Very sad...   but I believe it, unfortunately.

The New America Foundation found that twice as many people have died in attacks by right-wing groups in America than by Muslim extremists since 9/11.

Wow... this is interesting!   The Vagus nerve apparently is a transfer point for Parkinson's disease from the gastrointestinal tract.

Parkinson's May Begin in Gut and Spread to the Brain Via the Vagus Nerve

A major epidemiological registry-based study from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital indicates that Parkinson's disease begins in the gastrointestinal tract; the study is the largest in the field so far.

The research is in Annals of Neurology. (full access paywall)

According to a new study, Parkinson's disease could begin in the gut and spread to the brain via the vagus nerve.

Lol.... This is hilarious for anyone who has seen Guardians of the Galaxy.
The movie had only been out for three days before sherlocksmyth wrote the definitive NC-17 work, told from the perspective of Groot.

I was wondering if Groot & Hodor were going to have a fling and it was going to be recorded for posterity.

Today's the day, people. Without Bloodshed is free today on Amazon. You want this winter's tale of intrigue, honor, conspiracies, romance, revenge, and angry wizard sex.

About Without Bloodshed

The murder of a rock violinist on a wintry London night. A coup d’état by a gun-runner and his army of bikers in Boston. A favor between friends granted in Tokyo. With these parallel events, the first Starbreaker novel begins. Without Bloodshed is a near-future science fantasy thriller filled with deceit, subterfuge, action, comedy, and romance.

When a dictator’s public allegations make Morgan Stormrider a liability to the Phoenix Society, the Society orders him to prove Alexander Liebenthal a liar — or die in the attempt.

Artwork by Ricky Gunawan

"All who threaten me die."

These words made Morgan Stormrider’s reputation as one of the Phoenix Society’s deadliest IRD (Individual Rights Defense) officers. He served with distinction as the Society’s avenger, hunting down anybody who dared kill an Adversary in the line of duty. After a decade spent living by the sword, Morgan seeks to bid a farewell to arms and make a new life with his friends as a musician.

Regardless of his faltering faith, the Phoenix Society has a final mission for Morgan Stormrider after a dictator’s accusations make him a liability to the organization. He must put everything aside, travel to Boston, and prove he is not the Society’s assassin. He must put down Alexander Liebenthal’s coup while taking him alive.

Despite the gravity of his task, Morgan cannot put aside his ex-girlfriend’s murder, or efforts to frame him and his closest friends for the crime. He cannot ignore a request from a trusted friend to investigate the theft of designs for a weapon before which even gods stand defenseless. He cannot disregard the corruption implied in the Phoenix Society’s willingness to make him a scapegoat should he fail to resolve the crisis in Boston without bloodshed.

The words with which Morgan Stormrider forged his reputation haunt him still.

Lots of SF freebies!

Nor is Without Bloodshed the only free science fiction available today. Check out these other titles for Digital Book Day. I particularly recommend Rick Wayne's Fantasmagoria and Mike Reeves-McMillan's Hope and the Patient Man.

Go to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms142507.aspx

It will tell you "LANGUAGE language_term clause of a CONTAINS, CONTAINSTABLE, FREETEXT, or FREETEXTTABLE query can be used to specify the language used for word breaking, stemming, thesaurus, and stopword processing of the query terms" which if you have a supported language during the query execution.

Check it out, I hope this works for you.

When I'm travelling I like to call my family from the Google Voice website on my laptop, but without a phone handy, it's a little hard to use. To make things easier, we've just added Hangouts as an option when making calls from the web. It works even if you aren't using Hangouts in Gmail, and doesn't require a Google+ account. Try it the next time you place a call from the Google Voice website -- I think it's a much easier way to keep in touch with people.

I got the TACOS DE COCHINITA PIBIL. I found they were were small, bland, not very filling. My girlfriend found hers were also not especially good. We won't be back.

This is my neighborhood chinese food place. Can't say it's an awesome experience, but I've totally enjoyed every meal I got from there. The service is also pretty good. There is no decor though! We eat here at least twice a month, and have never gotten food that wasn't as expected.

This bar / restaurant is amazing.. For a local bar, not only did they have an excellent selection of beer and liquor, but they had an excellent food menu as well. Exceptional food at great prices. I had a salad, while my girlfriend had a burger that were exceptional. They served a "Crisp Cider" that was a tasty alternative to regular beer. The decor is unusual, starting with the sliding door, you have to pull back to enter. We will make this a regular place to relax after work! :-)

We attended a weekend event hee, so it may not be the same experience you'd receive if you went for a regular weekend. The resort was clean, spacious... But the beds definitely weren't the best. It's not up to date ( Wi-Fi only in the lobby ), etc. But it wasn't a bad experience.

This hotel in Portland, OR was totally awesome. We stayed there for a week.. The service at the front desk, the restaurant, the bar, and the maid service was all at a very high level. THe hotel was an easy walk to quite a few of Portland's tourist activities -- from Powell's to the Japanese Garden's. One of their light rail trains travels close to the hotel as well. I'd highly recommend this as a place to stay if you visit Portland.

Avalon is a wonderful place, though difficult to find! Google Maps was perfect in it's directions, and location... Just be sure to download the local maps before going, as you probably won't have any cell phone access nearby! The food was mostly tasty... The buffet was great. The bar was fun. Water Aerobics was challenging, at least for me! Wi-Fi is spotty and the bed was a bit firmer than I am used to. I hope to go back in the summer to enjoy the outdoors... It was way too cold to be nude outside! :-)
