Classic computers in classic videos :)
The computer revolution didn't come into people's homes overnight. There was a long period when the public was still discovering all the things they could do if they owned a computer -- and this led to some truly outrageous TV ads. Check out the most hilarious and creative classic home computer ads ever made.

Custom PRINTinZ Print base holder
Since I now use my PRINTinZ plate for everything; PLA, ABS, Bridge you name it, even Bronze, I thought it would be worthwhile making something nice to hold it and keep it flat instead of using bulldog clips.

I sketched something out and got a friend to machine it up, works great :)

Yeah sounds like your idea is better, I noticed the newer PRINTinZ plate I have is slightly thicker. But luckily nothing I can't fix with a bit of sandpaper ;)

Shiny!
No offense to the wonders of computer-generated special effects, but there’s something ineffable about the delicate handcraft of practical effects and models done well that lifts the spirits in a totally different way. And as non-CGI movie-making goes, Ridley Scott’s 1982 future-noir classic Blade R

Best investment I ever made was a GM as a first car. I quickly learned how to be a mechanic!

Here we go again, suppressing more "Apple invented" nonsense spread by Apple press and fanbois...

Via +Carl Draper

See, this is what some of us mean when we say, "The tech media is sycophantic about ascribing every invention ever to Apple." It's as if they fear that to not credit everything to Apple will get them blacklisted and they won't get their free, totally-without-any-expectations-of-a-favor (of course) device units from the fruit company.

In Gruber's mind, dozens of groups and corporations involved in the development of a new standard sat around twiddling their thumbs waiting for Sir Jony Ive to receive divine revelation before they got any work done.

If anyone else was trying to credit the entire project to any one company, this might just be dismissed as 'how it works in the media'. But no one is crediting Samsung or Google or any of the other companies with inventing the new standard. No, only Apple. Only ever Apple is credited for every invention, ever, in the history of computing.
Two computers of note have been announced or released in recent days -- the 2015 version of the Chromebook Pixel and the redesigned MacBook -- that feature an all-singing, all-dancing USB-C port. It transfers data, it powers, it makes coffee, it doesn't matter which way round you insert it, and it practically guarantees an orgasm (OK... maybe we got a little carried away).

Another Lenovo Apple beater...

Ladies and Gentleman!  Meet the Lenovo 13" Laptop.  It weights 1.72 pounds! That is lighter than Apple's new Macbook and keeping in mind this is a 13".  It's also very thin and powerful!  I'll quote the article.

"they're actually quite powerful. Under the hood, you'll find surprisingly muscular parts -- none of this low-powered Core M business, but full-fledged fifth-generation Intel Core processors."

Oh and in terms of resolution it's higher than the Macbook at 2,560x1440.  It features plenty of USB 3.0 ports and HDMI and many more.  But you know what, it doesn't come with an Apple logo so it's not "cool".
It's impossible to convey in a photo how light Lenovo's new ultraportable, the LaVie HZ550, is. So instead I'll say this: When I first picked it up, I wa

100GB SSD is enough for my machines. I keep all my real data on a home server which has mirrors. Don't trust hard drives, especially spinny ones ;)

I've got the G Watch R. I really like it. So far I can only see disadvantages of the iWatch over the Gwatch.
