+Kevin Hodgson introduced me to http://textanim.com/ this week and I've had fun creating messages like the one below, encouraging people to volunteer at tutor/mentor programs in Chicago or other cities.

So I took this a step further with a couple of Tweets, such as this. https://twitter.com/tutormentorteam/status/896090985481945089

I animated the Twitter handle for a tutor/mentor program and Tweeded that to them, with the message "pass it on". That was an invitation for them to look up one of the other tutor/mentor programs in Chicago and create a text animation of that organization's name, then post it on Twitter and/or G+.

If enough programs do this it will be a great example of programs working together to raise visibility for all programs in the city as a strategy to raise visibility for themselves.

Pass it on.

If you're involved with youth serving #tutor #mentor org what's strategy to develop 21st century skills among youth and volunteers? I put graphics and ideas like this in blog articles. Does your youth org write a blog with similiar stories? http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2017/04/21st-century-skills-are-these-modeled.html

Yesterday I did an interview on Blog Talk Radio about using maps. Someone called in who had done business with ESRI, the top GIS source, and later someone from ESRI sent the talk show host an email showing a free course this fall about making maps. Since the #clmooc is interested in maps I'm posting it here. Perhaps you and some of your students might take the course. http://www.esri.com/mooc/diy-geo-apps?adumkts=industry_solutions&aduse=education&aduin=higher_ed&aduc=email&adum=training&utm_Source=email&aduca=gbd17education_mooc_apps&adut=210504

I've been following the creativity demonstrated by #clmooc members, like the many different types and formats of doodles. I've not engaged much for a few days because I've been reading a report about the State of Racial Justice in Chicago, by the Research on Race and Public Policy at UIC . I scratched out some notes as I read and being inspired by #clmooc I put some color to my notes and I've shared it in this blog article, along with a link to the UIC report. https://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2017/08/state-of-racial-justice-in-chicago-who.html

During past week I've posted two blog articles showing concept maps that I've used since 2005. I put this on a black background to see how it would work in a Lumen5 video, which I learned by from +TERRY ELLIOTT and the #clmooc community. This is the link to article with the graphic I'm showing. I hope a few of you will take a look at graphics like this and create and share your own interpretations. http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2017/07/four-part-strategy-to-help-k-12-youth.html
