I was wondering if the reason was that either (A) there were too many Scriptures to use for such a short quiz (and so people might look up sources for the quotes and find them there - along with their arguments/hermeneutics) and/or (B) non-trinitarian folks might also gainsay the Scripture quotes he would use and say it's either not clear from the verse(s) quoted and/or it's not the proper interpretation.  Anyway, just some thoughts.  I really liked that quiz!  I hope he does more of them.

Obergefell just confirms what has been true for a long time: It was never going to be possible to maintain the old consensus on marriage.

One of the most offensive claims of Christianity to modern people is that Jesus is the only way to be reconciled to God. We're encouraged within the church and without to update the Gospel to a contemporary world. Drop this offensive element because we have to make it more palatable to modern people. I heard Timothy Keller make a great point. It's rather obvious, but I've never heard anyone make it plainly before. Christianity was born in a plura...

I've been thinking of how unhelpful the term "human fetus" is. It reverses our usual grammatical way of speaking about a stage of development, so it perpetuates fuzzy ideas about the identity of the unborn. We say "adult human," not "human adult," because that is the clearest way to speak. Saying "human adult," "dog adult," "horse adult," etc. would make it sound as if an "adult" is a type of creature in and of itself, with the qualifier telling ...

Newsweek magazine has a cover story about "the war on Christians" in the Muslim world. In Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan - and many other countries - Christians are suffering persecution at the hands of Muslims. And it definitely is on the rise. While I appreciate that Newsweek is highlighting this, I take issue with the title of the piece: "The Rise of Christophobia." Phobia? This mislabeling something as a "phobia" has been done before, and it ...

Richard Dawkins says no. “We don’t need to get morals from our religions … We don’t want to find morals from the holy books. We can have our own enlightened secular values.” We do need God, however, to account for the existence of morals. Evolution - no natural process - can do that. Morals are immaterial, universal values. They aren't physical things so science can't study them and natural processes can't explain them. There's no mechanism in na...
