Exploring some of the lesser known robots.txt directives that are used by search engines internationally.

This week, I grabbed some 667 964 /robots.txt robots exclusion files from the Alexa Top 1 Million domains. Here is what I learned about some of the lesser known robots directives they contained.

Results from testing with Proxy Troubleshooter for Android on Android N Preview:
• PAC proxies are totally broken. Regressed from M.
• Direct proxies work fine except for IPv6.
• IPv6 literal addresses still explode.

So proxies still aren’t really supported on Android. Maybe I should rename the app “Proxies are more trouble than they’re worth”.
