Moving teeth is a health care procedure and should be left to the experts. Trying to do it yourself can cause serious damage and tooth loss.

Triumphant tales of 3-D printed braces shouldn't tempt you into DIY orthodontia.

It is recommended that all children have a check-up with an orthodontic specialist no later than age 7. The orthodontist will advise parents as to the best time to begin treatment. Often it is possible to take advantage of predictable periods of a patient’s growth and intervene so that treatment can have the best results.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. ‪#‎NCDHM‬
Good oral health habits are especially important when you’re wearing braces. Protect your smile by brushing, flossing, eating healthy meals, and getting regular check ups from your dentist as well as your orthodontist.

Flossing daily is important, especially during your orthodontic treatment. Plaque build up around brackets, between teeth, and under the gums can cause decalcification. Using a floss threader or an ortho pick will make flossing with braces easier.

Michele Obama wishes she’d had braces as a kid. (It’s still an option! Maybe after the White House?)
“My bottom teeth stick out a little bit. And if I had had braces, they would be fixed by now. So for all of you who don’t like your braces, you will appreciate it when you’re my age.”

First Lady Michelle Obama tells the children of White House employees that she won't be following Hillary Clinton's path

“I am smiling all the time, literally and I really owe a lot of that to my orthodontist. Now it is the number one compliment that people give me. They say ‘you have a fantastic smile.’ It is infectious and I can connect with other people.” -Shruthi

Good oral hygiene is especially important during orthodontic treatment. Plaque build up around brackets, between teeth, and under the gums can cause decalcification. The white marks on teeth that result from decalcification are permanent. Cavities and gum disease can also occur. The best defense is brushing and flossing regularly.

I was a Patient at the Pleasant Grove location when they closed down. Since then my teeth have moved a little, When I called into the West Valley location to see if I could get a new permanent retainer put in, I was told that the life time warranty I received wasn't valid anymore there. Thousands of dollars down the drain!!!! If you are going to get braces, do your research Find an orthodontist that has been around for awhile and isn't going to go bankrupt like Dana Orthodontics did. There are plenty of other orthodontist in my area that I should have gone to in the first placer that are cheaper, better quality and NEVER went out of Business.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize if our staff did not make it clear that we would be more than happy to provide you with a retainer at a discount. With regard to the warranty, further explanation may be helpful. When Dr. Dana liquidated his ownership of Dana Orthodontics, he sold each location with its patients and contracts to a different buyer. I purchased a single location in West Valley City. We gladly honor warranties for patients who started treatment at this office, as these are the only patients for whom we have treatment records. Unfortunately, doctors who purchased the other locations have closed their doors, leaving their patients without a warranty. It’s natural to assume that we “kept the business name and therefore all the patients,” but it simply isn’t true. When patients from out-of-business locations need follow-up care, we do our best to assist them, often at a discounted rate. I welcome you to call me if you have any additional concerns. -Brion Conway

Pretty great place to get braces, sometimes the wait is long but understandably so.

They wait time is ridiculous and they didn't have me on the schedule and I was just waiting in the waiting room with no idea when I had checked on

We apologize for the mix up and the long wait. We’ve been working on reducing the wait time for our patients and we’re sorry we let you down.
