Build a Solid Foundation for Book Promotion!

The first step to building a strong foundation for your book promotion is to start “building your author platform” –  in other words you need to develop a reputation, connections, and online followers. 

Building a platform takes time, so it’s best to start as early as possible (ideally when you decide to write a book). Here are some essential steps to platform building:

It’s been said that obscurity is the biggest challenge faced by authors. To sell books, you need to get yourself and your book noticed by the people who are in your target market. But that can seem like a tall order, especially for newly published authors.

Building your own audience takes time, but there are probably a number of people and organizations who already have an established following of people who are in your target market. One of the best ways to get noticed and build your own audience is to develop relationships with those who are already reaching your market.
