Do you struggle to define what you do in one sentence? I would love to know how you describe your job and what you do!

There were many questions! However, using an older phrase did mean people latched onto the concept quickly and then questioning was more about the practicalities. Perhaps the next stage is have the explanation work without the librarian reference?

+Sharon O'Dea asks - should you really stay after you have launched your #intranet?
In her post last week, Dana talked about the virtues of sticking around and seeing your intranet develop, grow and thrive. But, being the contrary lot that we are, I’m here to tell you why that might not be such a good idea. Getting to [read more]

There was a twitter debate just now about news, the definition, the role  delivery (push vs pull).

+Jonathan Phillips asked what is the definition of news. Is it:

#intranet news = latest info that drives or reflects org change?

Thoughts? (#internalcomms)

Depends on the culture in your org.  I'd say - in an ideal world - you would want people to care about and see the link between how their productivity impacts that or the wider organisation. And - therefor - seeing the Q3 results would motivate or reward them in some way.

If people don' t see any relationship then why would they be interested? Only because they might related it to job security? (poor results = redundancy?).

If there really is no relationship are  you saying that people are not actually interested? That there is an element of the IC role that means some things just have to be pushed out? - I wouldn't disagree with that, it just isn't 'good'.
