Functional place. Well maintained and clean. Washers cost a lot, but the dryers are a quarter per 12 minutes. There are two TVs each playing a different channel at full volume, so I recommend ear plugs if you intend staying there with your laundry. There's frequently unsupervised toddlers running and screaming around. There is a coffee shop across the street and other places around if you want to wait there instead. I've never had items stolen. Owners are very friendly and helpful. If you come in just before close (8pm), you can finish your laundry even after hours. The Star Trek clock is a quirky addition to the decor.

This is where dignity goes to die. Not even basic appliances are either a) available or b) functioning here. I bought a kitchen timer since I like to bake, brought it home that night and took it out of the packaging...didn't work. Luckily they issued a refund (the dude running the customer service desk is awesome). Screaming kids and the hopeless of the hopeless everywhere. Expect to wait an abysmally long time in line only to have them tell you their station is closing when your turn is up. None of the clothes will fit any human being with normal anatomy (was looking for cheap clothes for a Halloween costume), and also look and feel like they've been through someone else's rusty old washer a million times. The smell of the Ceasar's there is everywhere. It just smells like fake cheese and synthetic butter. Everywhere. I gained 5 pounds just from smelling it. The alarm WILL go off when you leave, but the security guy will either inspect every single square inch of what you've purchased and scrutinize the receipt, taking more of your time, or shrug at you and let you walk by.

I love this place! They are so friendly and have a ton of options for both cats and dogs. They have the best kitty litter ever and have become pretty much the only place I shop for pet supplies. They greet you when you walk in, bag your purchases and offer suggestions when asked. My cat recently needed to be put on a diet and I was buying expensive food from the vet, when I found an alternative sold at this store that's perfect for her and much more affordable. They also have a lot of toys and other supplies. This place is a touch pricier than chain pet stores, but you absolutely get what you pay for. My cat is healthy with a ton of energy thanks to the food and litter and toys I can get, which is exactly what I want for my pet!

I got some keys remade here. No one greeted me when I entered and when I asked the first employee I saw where I could get keys made I was yelled at to go wait at the front. A different employee came up and was very courteous, asked me exactly what I wanted, and was very quick. Then I went back to the first employee to cash out and they were in a slightly better mood. I'm glad to see Ace Hardware is still in business and so close to me. They have a lot of great gear to get and very affordable too. In classic Ace Hardware style it's small, overpacked and dimly lit, but don't let that deter you. Get your stuff, be patient, and get out.

I never expect much of 'fast food' chains, especially in a busy city where customers are a dime a dozen, but this location had the best service ever. They were quick and courteous, the cashier even helped me get $3 of quarters when I asked. To top it off, at that moment my brother e-mailed me some Blackhawks tickets for that night, but I had no access to a printer. I asked the manager if there was any way I could use their printer. He said they didn't have any, but told me to forward the e-mail to their corporate office (via my phone), and from there they faxed the tickets to his location. He came to my table with the tickets printed out for me, no questions asked. We offered to throw away our trash when we were done but a cashier/waitress came by and told us she'd take care of it. Now, I'm not suggesting to use a restaurant as your personal printing service or coin machine, but for that day at least they were incredibly helpful. I love the midwest hospitality!!!
