I know it's probably a bit heretical based on the number of superb home grown examples, but I've always wanted to check out the Ivan Ramen in Setagaya. Has anyone been? Thoughts?

I think I had that once.  It was over priced.

Defending the indefensible.
Maybe it's time to take the selfie stick seriously.

Wierd to see HK in black and white. Normally people focus on the neon.

Nice. Love the kids book style, especially about optimizing human capital.

+Google.org update on progress they've made on supporting victims of #humantrafficking through targeted search results. They say they're today launching 9 more countries in 14 different languages, but don't specify what these are. Any ideas, +Chris Busselle?

I missed this podcast from last Feb where Jimmy Tamborello from The Postal Service (and Dntel) pulls apart The District Sleeps Alone Tonight.

The whole or half fried chicken is delicious but don't leave without trying an assortment of their house made sausages inspired by various countries. The Mexican with coriander and jalapeno is great.

If you're not in the mood for a kebab, grab a couple of loaves of fresh baked Turkish bread and some of their excellent dips to take away.

Reasonably priced for the location with large benches and wifi. Their individual drip is great but, weirdly, only served between 1-5pm daily. All the coffee is exceptional. Try the almond friand cubes in the afternoon or the amazing fermented butter toast in the morning.

Cute cafe upstairs in a reclaimed warehouse. Lots of recycled furniture and books create a real feeling of warmth in the cavernous space. The coffee is good and their special french-toast (in 5 or 10 slices) is not to be missed.

Delicious and inventive, the ramen at Thank is served with grilled chicken and a corn soup (potage) broth. There are three styles, each with a range of soup thickness. The tsukemen are particularly good, with thick, chewy noodles and a rich broth. Don't forget to sprinkle ground white sesame and curry powder from the provided containers on top.

If you're a fan of coriander/cilantro you shouldn't miss their special ramen that piles heaps of the stuff on top. Taste sensation!

A off-the-beaten-track local favourite that does a huge range of cheap hand-made udon. The stand out is definitely the curry-soup udon but any of the styles benefit from the incredibly chewy and delicious noodles.
