To all those who say benchmarks don't matter... you're right...assuming your phone is already doing everything you'll ever want it to do.

The reality is our phones/tablets keep on taking on more and more use cases. Having a dialer pop up 3ms faster is nice, but semi-useless. However, enabling me to take larger and larger workloads, and expanding the capabilities of these devices is extremely useful.

Keep pushing the performance and capabilities.

One of the things that I find annoying is the periodic articles you'll see where the writer is asking some variation of "who has had a bigger impact, jobs or gates?". Of course the correct answer is neither.

+Linus Torvalds is the right answer. Granted, he didn't " invent " open source, but he's the closest thing to a figurehead we have. And as +Scott Wilson mentions open source has destroyed the old school, closed source mentality that pervaded our computer revolution for 30 years (the dark ages, roughly 1972 - 2002).

OpenSource in the Enterprise

If there are still Enterprises out there pretending it's 1999 and avoiding OpenSource, it's time to get with the program. OpenSource is here to stay. Not only is it a viable solution option, but in many cases it's the better option. The Weather Company agrees.
Since The Weather Company has been a major adopter of open source software, I’m often asked why we have chosen this path. Where is the value in taking the open source route to solve your business challenges? I’m a big advocate of open source, so I’m always happy to oblige. Here are my top five reasons:

Two things:
1. The one plus one is an awesome value for the money
2. Lollipop (in this case cm12) has some great performance optimizations

Note A0001 (cm12) vs the stock One Plus One. Video playback is an even more dramatic improvement.

I'll be curious to see where the Note4 lands once lollipop hits it.

Still love my nexus q.

One of these is a sexy black advanced technological device that was ahead of its time and never really sold.

The other is the Amazon Echo.

Or.... anything that you own
I spent last weekend elbow-deep in engine grease, hands tangled in the steel guts of my wife’s Mazda 3. It’s a good little car, but lately its bellyachings have sent me out to the driveway to tinker under the hood. I regularly hurl invectives at the internal combustion engine—but the truth is, I live for…

I find it amazing that there is still so much ignorance about what Chrome is. It hasn't been just a web browser for a very very long time, yet people persist in trying to label Chromebooks as useful only for browsing/email.

Google has some marketing to do.

And I'm totally excited for a new Pixel.

Keep an eye out for the Chromebook Pixel 2!

Classic game theory at work? Obviously it's not at all that simple. But well played Google, well played.

A nice PSA from +Scott Wilson

comScore is fake

It boggles my mind when folks like +CNET or +VentureBeat or +The Verge quote the fake comScore numbers. To put things into perspective:

comScore busted hacking their own users:
http://www.dailytech.com/ComScore+Caught+in+Class+Action+Suit+After+Collecting+Selling+Personal+Info/article30290.htm

comScore busted extorting companies for favorable scores
http://www.businessinsider.com/henry-blodget-comscore-blackmail-pay-us-10000-or-well-keep-underreporting-your-traffic-numbers-2010-

comScore busted faking numbers for Microsoft multiple times:
http://www.businessinsider.com/msn-redesign-hurts-traffic-2014-11

comScore is shit. Remember that. It's fake. It's a Microsoft sponsored shitshow.
Microsoft uses comScore, Yahoo!, Carl Icahn, and even the oil spill (with Stephen Colbert's help) to promote its lies

Finally had to uninstall WhatsappMD. What a shame. Back to the crappy default look and feel.Thx for making Whatsapp better, even temporarily, +Joaquin Cuitiño.

*NEWS - READ EVERYTHING* - So long, and thanks for all the fish.

(Listen to this song while reading for extra dramatic effect: http://youtu.be/hlsbTcPxZPc)

Everything, good or bad, must eventually come to an end. Unfortunately WhatsAppMD's end came too quickly.

Sorry for taking so long to make this announcement, I really didn't want to and kept delaying it again and again.

I'm about to reach an agreement with WhatsApp lawyers, I have to sign a document and they will give my accounts back, of course that means I will need to delete this community and as you have already seen the GitHub repo too.
I advise deleting forks too, they are starting to contact everyone involved in some form or another as it has already happened with +David L.-W. . Please, don't get in trouble because of something so small, do not continue the project! I also recommend installing stock WhatsApp as they must be developing a new banning method.

There's not a lot more to say other than I'm sorry and thanks for being part of the community. Seeing the project grow for 3 months, interacting with users and meeting some really helpful people was amazing!
From a little modification to use myself to more than 50.000 active installations, I think we made quite an accomplishment in such a short time :)

Before I go, I'd like to invite you to join a new community for future projects as I need to delete the WhatsAppMD community someday in the next week. The new community will be completely unrelated to WhatsApp or any other Facebook owned service and nothing about them will be discussed here: https://plus.google.com/communities/113481370316258794000

See you around, hope you enjoyed it while it lasted!
