Here's how to make that flying Speeder Bike toy you always wanted — and with a wireless camera that lets you see through the Stormtrooper's helmet.
I got into FPV (First Person Video) multi-rotor racing a few months ago. The fast, low level flying instantly reminded me of the Endor chase scene from Return of the Jedi. This project was an obvious choice to combine my interest and experience in RC (remote control) flight with my …

Do we need to swap from supporting small local shops to doing the same for websites? http://danthornton.net/2015/03/support-your-local-independent-blog/
Will we see small and medium-sized websites needing the same kind of support campaign as local High Street shops?

A fair few people I know might be smug about my ongoing envy of designers and developers http://danthornton.net/2015/02/why-i-envy-designers-and-developers/
As much as I love writing and have built a career on it, there are times when I would give anything to be a developer or designer

After months of speculation, NISMO is ready to teach us more about their new LMP1 car. http://rescars.com/nissan-and-nismo-want-to-teach-you-about-their-new-lmp1-car/
If you have not been living under a rock recently, you would have probably heard about Nissan’s new GT-R LM NISMO race car.  Since it is a LMP1 car, the race car will have the class mandated gas-powered, turbocharged V6, and energy-recovering hybrid system which is reported to produce 1250hp.  What is interesting is that …

Why even a geek like me is worried about technology being the basis for everything now - http://danthornton.net/2015/02/technology-underpins-and-connects-everything/
Technology now underpins and connects everything. Geeky as I am, I can't help wondering why all our problems aren't solved now then?

Spend hours at Christmas setting up an age-appropriate Xbox Live account, and still you get the marketing for 18-rated games http://danthornton.net/2015/02/xbox-marketing-fail/
Having thought I'd successfully set up an age-restricted Xbox Live profile, why is Xbox marketing 18-rated games to it?

Introduction
Runs Digital Content and Marketing Consultancy TheWayoftheWeb, and a niche publishing project at Hot Mod Media, including

With over 10 years experience in journalism and marketing, TheWayoftheWeb can consult and create digital and mobile content and marketing strategies, manage search engine optimisation (natural and paid), social media, and editorial, and create bespoke content for your site and social media campaigns.

Jodanma combines experienced developers and designers with detailed knowledge of what is required for an effective digital presence for businesses, whether you're looking to sell products, services, or monetise your content. By partnering with TheWayoftheWeb, we can build exactly what you need to increase your revenues and ensure it does the job when it comes to marketing and converting visitors to new business.

Finally OnlineRaceDriver, FPSPrestige and other website projects allow me to demonstrate how to build successful web properties and experiment with new and innovative ideas which can then be used on client websites, apps and projects.

Dan Thornton background:

I spent 7 years as a journalist and web producer on Motorcycle News (www.motorcyclenews.com) contributing to both print and digital publications, and with a focus on the online proposition. My responsibilities included managing the digital team, ensuring a content plan was fulfilled, managing the community aspects of the site and creating and maintaining a large products database.

I then became Community Marketing Manager across Bauer Media's portfolio (FHM, Heat, Empire, Zoo, etc), looking at both the onsite community functionality and engagement, and how to best interact with external communities.

Most recently I was the first Digital Marketing Manager at Absolute Radio, responsible for digital strategy, social media marketing, paid and natural search, and mobile.

I'm a huge advocate for new technology, particularly around microblogging and microsharing - you can generally find me on new startups and existing social networks as 'badgergravling'. I'm also hugely interested in future trending, and finding ways to best use new technology and applications from a business perspective.
