Pretty good day for British sport: tonking the Aussies again, first men's doubles champion at Wimbledon since 1936, and the yellow jersey in the tdf.

Tomorrow could be an even better day.

Sharpen goes to the Faire. So much cool stuff on show, it's amazing that anyone stopped to talk to us, but we did so much talking I had a sore throat for 3 days.

Last day of a fab four years at Google. I feel fortunate to have been able to work with a group of such talented, committed and friendly folk on many challenging and interesting projects. It truly has been a great place to work, and I'm sad to be leaving such a wonderful bunch of people.

However, I'm also excited to be starting a new venture - which is, well, starting a new venture! Along with my good friend +Kenny Stoltz we're going to be working on... something. No more details at this time, but keep up with +Sharpen App to be updated when there's more than vague hints to be had :)

Please share the legal counsel/firm you are engaging to assure you of your exclusive, defensible ownership of the new company's IP and that Sharpen will not be infringing on any patents. (I am interested in finding a good, entrepreneur-friendly IP firm.)  Thanks.

The first mayor in Sel kommune in Norway wrote «Can be opened in 2012» on a package from 1912. Friday the mystery will finally be revealed.

Nice to see the judiciary acknowledging the problem - hopefully this is a step along the road to reform.

All the discussion about goal-line technology in the wake of the England-Ukraine match seems to dance around a bigger issue which was perfectly illustrated in the incident in that particular game.

The issue being - if goal-line technology had been in place - and if the only question asked by the on-pitch referee was "did the ball cross the line?", then Ukraine would have been awarded a goal despite the fact that the goalscorer was a yard offside earlier in the move - as made clear by the TV footage.

If you're going to use technology - make sure the off-pitch referees can use all of it to make their decision.

Plus the fact that even after the even more obvious goal (Lampards in 2010 WC against Germany) Blatter et al were all "na we still wont bring tech in".  Then suddenly a goal is disallowed against us and they're all "we need goal line tech asap".  Damn I hate FIFA and Blatter, almost as much as he hates England.
