CNN seems to think that an event that happened 102 years ago  is "Breaking News". (http://goo.gl/QheidT)

I wondered what else they might consider breaking news.

Child found in toy claw machine

Supposedly, a 3 year old leaves his home, on his own, while his mother was in the bathroom.  He ends up in a bowling alley..

Road Rage

Driving earlier today, an older gentleman took the courtesy of pulling along side of me and yelling "Fucking Asshole!"
I yelled back, "I have Obamacare. The cure won't cost me much!".

Better Humanitarian
Mother Teresa or Nelson Mandela

Today's  #thisorthat  puts Mother Teresa in the ring against Nelson Mandela.  Which of the two do you think was the better humanitarian?
(yes, this is a hard one)

+Alan Bombria when considering Mandela's status, it's helpful to ask what you could have done in his place.

I find it difficult to believe that anyone has a morally superior and also coherent and viable plan for overcoming apartheid. A man like Gandhi might have achieved this, but there was only one Gandhi. He actually worked to gain rights for non whites in South Africa before his more famous work in India. I studied Satyagraha (Gandhi's technique) in grad school and it's hard to believe anyone else could have attained what he did. Martin Luther King Jr was on the path to this, and he adopted Gandhi's techniques wholesale, wrapping them in liberal Christianity. Mandela certainly was aware of the work of both these men and I'm sure it guided him.

This or That
Roth vs. Hagar

Today I will pit two former rockers against each other in context of their former band, Van Halen.

Which did you prefer in Van Halen?  David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?

To clarify my above comment, Hagar gets the vote.

A quaint little place that I just discovered via Google Maps. I went for a late breakfast (11AM) so the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. That, and being a Tuesday, made for quick and friendly service. The breakfast was good and fairly priced.

Absolutely horrendous. Rarely do I get a meal under 10 minutes. Usually 1/2 of it is cold since they assemble part of it then wait for the rest. By that time, the first part of the order is cold. Service is horrendous as well.

An excellent little spot for breakfast with both inside and outside tables. This is not your standard place to eat though. No one comes to your table at first. You walk in, grab a menu, order at the counter, pay and then wait at whatever table you want to sit at until a person brings your food out. My breakfast was an omelet stuffed with bacon (tons of it), ham, sausage, and cheddar cheese. I had a biscuit and coffee as well. There are several types of coffee to choose from :)

Refuel is a cozy little place around the riverbend area that I decided to try for the first time. It's a walk up cafe where you place your order at the counter and they bring it out to you. For my breakfast, I took advantage of their special and had the goat cheese omelette with bacon, onions and peppers. I chose the potatoes as my side dish and the meal was served with two slices of wheat toast. The entire meal, including my coffee, was absolutely delicious and it was served in good time. I'll definitely go back since I'm living in the area now.
