Listen to 02 - Personal questions on college applications, thinking critically, and a zombie apocalypse by Upgraded by Hobsons #k12 #highered #lgbtq
https://soundcloud.com/upgradedbyhobsons/episode2
In today’s episode of Upgraded by Hobsons, we ask questions about what belongs on a college admissions form and what does not. Also, it has never been more critical than now, to be a critical thinker. But how, exactly, do we do it? And how do we teach our kids to do it? Finally, what better way to learn and understand human behaviour in a catastrophe, than through a college course on a zombie apocalypse. This is Upgraded by Hobsons.

We’re committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to explore their interests, consider a wide range of options, and develop the skills they need to be successful in school and in life. That is why we've launched Naviance for Elementary, a new digital exploration tool to help students in grades K-5 explore the connection between their interests and long-term academic and life goals.

In this inaugural episode of Upgraded by Hobsons, we explore a whole new take on higher ed. Imagine a university without lectures, without traditional classrooms, without walls... Plus, we take a trip to Texas to a school that unlocks a meaningful connection between learning and living. Also, in the show you’ll hear the do’s and don’ts of emailing your professor. When people outside of the education industry think about community college, they often consider it a last resort. Sure, the mission is noble and it’s a great way to save money, but community college is not necessarily a desirable destination for most students. Or is it?A new statewide survey in Colorado shows that a community college credential could wind up being quite valuable, even compared to a traditional four-year degree. And, CollegeMeasu...

The service is friendly and courteous, and I found them to be very attentive. The soup was a little disappointing but the rest of the specials on the menu were very good and a tremendous value. The wine selection is also pretty good from my perspective, but probably won't 'wow' any wine snobs.

Our son has been at Childtime Bethesda for over a year now and we could not be happier with the decision. The facility is clean, safe and secure and the staff are wonderful and caring. I'm amazed every time we walk in there because it seems like everybody that works there knows my son's name...not just his primary caretakers. The Director, Suneeta, runs a very organized operation and has always been very patient and understanding with us whenever we have questions or requests.

Most of the food is mediocre but the pizza is actually getting pretty good. Very kid friendly and convenient.

Food is over priced and underwhelming. Ambience is nice especially due to the live music. Would come back to sip a cup of coffee or maybe try a dessert, but would probably not have another entrée.
