When people outside of the education industry think about community college, they often consider it a last resort. Sure, the mission is noble and it’s a great way to save money, but community college is not necessarily a desirable destination for most students. Or is it?A new statewide survey in Colorado shows that a community college credential could wind up being quite valuable, even compared to a traditional four-year degree. And, CollegeMeasu...

Hobsons recently sponsored The 2015 Inside Higher Ed Survey of Community College Presidents, a study by Gallup and Inside Higher Ed. This report aims to understand how community college presidents perceive and address the challenges facing two-year institutions in the United States. Where would you be today if you’d never met your favorite teacher? Think of all the valuable lessons you wouldn’t have learned, or all the wonderful experiences you would have missed.Teachers open doors to opportunities. They inspire kids to see what’s possible. And, to many children, they give support and guidance when things get tough. I’m fortunate to have had many great teachers throughout my life who have challenged me to think bigger and to...

As we move into April, I figured it time to update a popular series of posts that I called The Road to Naviance. My district started down this road about three years ago with initial grant funding, a lot of planning, and gradual roll-out. It has been quite the journey through the years so far, but the journey continues. Read more now.

The service is friendly and courteous, and I found them to be very attentive. The soup was a little disappointing but the rest of the specials on the menu were very good and a tremendous value. The wine selection is also pretty good from my perspective, but probably won't 'wow' any wine snobs.

Our son has been at Childtime Bethesda for over a year now and we could not be happier with the decision. The facility is clean, safe and secure and the staff are wonderful and caring. I'm amazed every time we walk in there because it seems like everybody that works there knows my son's name...not just his primary caretakers. The Director, Suneeta, runs a very organized operation and has always been very patient and understanding with us whenever we have questions or requests.

Most of the food is mediocre but the pizza is actually getting pretty good. Very kid friendly and convenient.

Food is over priced and underwhelming. Ambience is nice especially due to the live music. Would come back to sip a cup of coffee or maybe try a dessert, but would probably not have another entrée.
