This sure brings me back.
Creating a Screen Saver with C# By Frank McCown. February 22, 2012. Introduction. A Windows screen saver is simply a Windows application that displays either a configuration dialog box, a preview screen, or a full-screen window, depending on the command line argument it receives.

The undisputed all-time champion of screensavers was Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time. (With second place shared between The Simpson's screensaver and Johnny Castaway.)

I'm using an ActionFilter to inject parameters into some WebAPI actions, so I need to exclude those from being bound via body/query string. This Attribute works like a charm!
Lately I've been working on some WebAPI code with ActionFilters that inject parameters into the WebAPI action. For example, we authenticate via a JSON Web Token passed in a cookie, so one ActionFilter decodes and verifies the token. Since we need access to the properties in that token from our ...

I can only imagine what an employee would think, coming into the office and seeing a robot attempting to escape from the room it's in.
What happens when you put a telepresence robot online for the world to try out for free? Hilarity of course. Double Robotics is a company that builds telepresence robots. The particular robot in quest...

Serializing an Async Task?
It looks pretty hacky but there are some neat things you could accomplish with it.
Sometimes people ask the question “How can I serialize a Task?” If you try, it throws a SerializationException: Dim t = TestAsync(). Using stream As New MemoryStream. Dim formatter As New Formatters.Binary.BinaryFormatter. formatter.Serialize(stream, t) ' SerializationException: Type 'Task' is ...

This is not a bit of backwater American slang. In fact, it's a word with nearly 1,000 years of history.

I'm still stuck on EF4.3, but Code First is really great. I'm glad they're focusing on it.
A while back we blogged about our plans to make EF7 a lightweight and extensible version of EF that enables new platforms and new data stores. We also talked about our EF7 plans in the Entity Framework session at TechEd North America. Prior to EF7 there are two ways to store models, ...

The only current major drawback is the lack of index creation via the fluent API without using some trickery. Other than that, Code First and EF are an awesome combo. Now if I could only get my fellow devs and DBAs on board.
