"Change in the publishing industry = getting published is no longer a lofty, out-of-reach dream."

It won't take long for you to develop a good amount of content on the subject. And that content can easily be leveraged for ebook publishing.

I love that one of my +Fistbump Media, LLC partners, +Crystal Stine, is doing this series (for FREE)! If you're wondering at all about how to create stellar blog/social media graphics, then you'll want to sign up for this series now! (Note: It's free this time, but likely won't be again!)

#bloggingtips   #socialmediatips
When my sweet online friend Amy sent me an Asked & Answered message asking if I would please offer a webinar or online training on how to create social media graphics, I was intrigued. And then excited about the idea. And then started wondering what in the world I could offer that would make any sense at all. So I played around with a few ideas

Before You Click “Send” On Your Next Email
http://www.patheos.com/blogs/thehighcalling/2015/02/before-you-click-send-on-your-next-email

(Disclaimer: I wrote this piece for +The High Calling over at Patheos Faith and Work.)

I don't know about you, but I've been on both ends of the #emailetiquette  conversation, and it just seems to me like we Christians shouldn't be having conversation issues like that.

In this post, I take a look at what conversation really means (including email conversation), and what the Bible has to say about guiding us in those areas. Ultimately it breaks down into two key areas...

1) The words we use
2) Our pride/motives in how we communicate those words

What are your experiences with email miscommunication?

Achieving Greatness (via Patheos Faith and Work)
http://www.patheos.com/blogs/thehighcalling/2015/01/achieving-greatness/

"Regardless of what you do, imagine being so great at it that no one can stop you! You’re the best of the best! If there were an awards ceremony for what you do, then you’d be the hands-down winner! In fact, the other finalists would only show up to the awards ceremony not because they had a chance at winning, but to show their respect for what you’ve accomplished."

(Disclaimer: I wrote this post several years ago, and it was just reprinted over on the Patheos Faith and Work channel, where I'm an editor. The infographic is new, and based on Proverbs 2:1-5, which is what the post breaks down.)

King Solomon shares in Proverbs 2:1-5 some wisdom to help us gain two HUGE things that can help us achieve greatness... understanding of the fear of the Lord, and the knowledge of God. With those in our possession, we can do great things!

Which of the items on the "IF-list" do you need to work on the most? Which ones do you have a good handle on? How do you think getting the stuff from the "THEN-list" can help you achieve greatness?

people. seriously? this brings tears to my eyes! WE DID IT!

Check out this post from +World Help celebrating the one year anniversary of our ‪#‎AfricaWH‬ blogger trip to Uganda and Rwanda... SPOILER: all 3 rescue homes are now funded! honestly... i'm freaking out... what this means for SO MANY babies in Uganda... I'm nearly speechless... humbled and honored to have been a part of such an amazing project!

"We spent a week listening and telling the stories of genocide survivors, former child soldiers, and the true heroes of Africa. We unrolled yards of fresh white canvas and watched as tiny fingers and inquisitive minds painted a tapestry of life and innocence. We invited our readers to see Africa in a new light—one rising from the ashes of poverty.

And at the end of it all, our supporters responded by helping us fund, not one, but three Rescue Homes that now offer protection and nurturing to dozens of children."

Last January we set out on an adventure of a lifetime with five gifted advocates and storytellers. Our goal was to raise awareness for the growing number of children being abandoned in the streets of Uganda, home to 2.5 million orphans. Our crew traipsed the littered alleys of the Katwe slum—one of the largest in Uganda—where half a million impoverished people call home. We witnessed a shocking number of children roaming Katwe hungry and utter...

awesome #entrepreneur  advice!
I remember telling my Dad at at a young age how I would become a millionaire by 30. He gave me the non-sarcastic, yet mostly skeptical “I bet you will son.” But shockingly, I did. And while money seemed to be the focus during my early pursuit, it became my furthest concern over the past several… See More

*Some Things Aren't Worth Compromising" at +The High Calling
MORE: http://www.thehighcalling.org/articles/essay/some-things-arent-worth-compromising

"I left the meeting with a pit in my stomach. I pulled out the pictures of my wife and son that I always carried with me in my laptop case. I thought about what it would mean to them if I could make more money. But I also questioned whether money could replace my presence if I had to travel more to provide the extra comfort the money would bring."

“I strive to glorify God in the workplace. I'm also active in my church. Yet my greatest ministry is to my family—to be a great husband and leave a strong legacy through my children.” In this article from our Conflict of Interest series, Dan King wrestles with balancing work and family.

I'm sharing a perspective today over at +The High Calling on Patheos Faith and Work regarding how the Bible influences everyday tasks like email. I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts on this piece!

"The conversations we have (including our email and social media conversations) aren’t about talking AT people, but about dwelling WITH them. There’s no division in there. And please note that I didn’t say there wasn’t disagreement, rather no division. Conversation is about coming together. It’s about unity. Even when we disagree, we can have grace and understanding for other’s opinions."

Paying Well: Loving Others Through Fair Wages (at +The High Calling)
http://www.thehighcalling.org/work/paying-well-loving-others-through-fair-wages

"As long as I’ve been an entrepreneur, I’ve wrestled with how much to charge for my work—and how much to give away. Still, getting paid what I’m worth is important to me for practical and theological reasons. The Bible speaks a great deal on the subject of work and paying/being paid well."

In the Old Testament:
Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness,
and his upper rooms by injustice,
who makes his neighbor serve him for nothing
and does not give him his wages. (Jer. 22:13, ESV, emphasis mine)

In the New Testament:
By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:35)

These two passages have guided me a great deal in my decisions not on with how to pay other people for their services, but also in how I should charge for my own services (by not being ashamed to charge my regular rates to others in the church).

How do you handle the issue of paying and charging for your services, especially when it comes to others in the church?

Note: I am the author of this piece, but I know it's something that adds value to this community.
