Yeah, this. That is all.

So, this little thing happened today.

Yep, after 56 weeks, 395 days, and 271 in-the-seat driving hours, I finally qualified as a train driver this afternoon, along with 6 of my awesome classmates.

I feel incredibly lucky to have been supported along the way by a large number of fine folk on the job, and by friends and family who've put up with my crazy hours and constant study for over a year.

Any nerds out there wanna fun new job with a groovy bunch?

Aaaaaaaand, GO!

TheMotorReport.com.au, an independent Australian website for motoring news and reviews, is seeking a talented freelance web developer and systems administrator.

You will have extensive PHP web application development experience and excellent RDBMS skills (with MySQL or similar).

A comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS3 and Javascript/jQuery is required, along with a working knowledge of Apache, Linux and general server maintenance.

Working on an ‘as needed’ freelance basis, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance at both ends of the TMR website, working with our team to support, repair, enhance and build features.

You will be involved in the upkeep of the existing TMR website, database and server systems, and you will also play a key role in the development of a major new project.

And, of course, you will have the freedom to work remotely from your own offices.

For more information, contact Mike at pr@themotorreport.com.au.

Feedback/suggestion for +Google+ Help... Remove the Nearby stream.

Now that it's 90+% advertising from pages and other commercial entities, it's damn-near useless and should be shut down. It certainly doesn't really allow me to find and follow cool local users, like it used to.

I have other feedback, too, but that's been mentioned at length by others, and largely ignored (and certainly not fixed) #fixthestream

Alright, Google Services, you've made your point... Now give me my N5 battery back!

Screen basically off the whole time (I was listening to music on my N7). So what gives?

Happened upon this quaint little unassuming place in Brunswick St, and was pleasantly surprised. From the typical Parisian seating (facing out to the street) to the real French wait staff, it felt like a little bit of Paris had slipped through into Melbourne. The food was sublime, the staff friendly and the service prompt. Definitely going back there again!

Terrific value restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. The $14.50 special lunchtime set menu is great. The service can feel rushed, but the staff always find time for a smile.

Went here for a birthday dinner, and the food was excellent. We had the set menu, everything came out quite timely, not too rushed, but certainly no waiting in between courses, and the staff were quite attentive, even when they got very busy. The serves were a little tiny, but there were enough of them to make up for it. The field mushrooms were delicious.

The most amazing array of food I've ever encountered, coupled with spectacular views over the Yarra River and Melbourne CBD. Perhaps I'm a little uncultured, but I've never been to a place with all-you-can-eat oysters. Several different buffer-style stations catering to a range of tastes, all extremely tasty, topped off with a huge array of delicious desserts. Did I mention, all you can eat?

Really friendly wait staff, wide selection of delicious tapas, quite reasonable prices. Would definitely go back.
