Came back hoping to find more news. I just looked at the Amazon US version of the 360 and wow the negative reviews are really growing. Blurry lens. Mis-matched stitching. Overheating and shutting down 8 minutes into a video at night. Samsung quality has taken a dive apparently look at the Note 7. Well I'm going to use mine on a job this month and then the 360, gear VR, and S6 are headed for eBay.

I've tried several times over the past month to contact Samsung on the status of my Gear 360 RMA. I call India, I assume. They try to reach Plano TX Samsung repair and they can't. So I had no status on my repair until last week, Samsung sent me an email informing me they are shipping the Gear 360 back and "No problem was found". Which is infuriating because A. I included a dropbox link handwritten in the return that has a dozen or so images blurry on only one side and B. They didn't bother talking to me before sending it back. I'm on hold now for a 3rd attempt to reach someone in Plano and I guess all I can do is ask for another unit and see if they'll send me another one.

Why is the US launch delayed? Why won't Samsung admit there's a problem?

Had an interesting call with Samsung Customer Service, at the 888 number I listed in my last post. At first the guy said "You bought it via an eBay seller so Samsung won't warranty your Gear 360" so I started asking for his manager over and over and finally he got back on the phone and is sending me a UPS prepaid label to ship the Gear 360 to a US-based repair center, followed by lots of apologies for "what I said earlier" I'm not sure what a US-based repair center will do given this hasn't been released here yet, but it's a start.

I'm getting some nice runaround from Samsung. US customer service chat said they couldn't help me because its not yet a US product. They gave me an email to contact, and I got this reply today:

Dear Damian Dodd,

Thank you for contacting Samsung. As per the description and the attached picture in your email, I understand that the captured pictures using one of the Gear 360 cameras come out blurry and the lens is sharp to infinity. I can imagine your situation.
