Really glad to have finally put this together after an email from a reader of the site last week

If you aren't already aware, Tiger Temple in Chiang Mai is a animal attraction that many tourists and travellers visit during their time in Thailand, but is home to some of the worst animal abuse in the country.

They call themselves a 'conservation' project, but the reality is drugged tigers, chains, beatings, and illegal international sales of tiger cubs who've been taken from their mothers at less than a few weeks old.

Please, think twice before supporting or visiting them to take the 'cuddling a tiger' picture that so many wish to replicate.
A list of eight responsible alternatives to the Tiger Temple & Kingdom, plus how to be more responsible and avoid the truth behind the worst attractions

Have you considered travel to Myanmar now it's becoming easier?

An incredible photo of some Buddhist monks in Myanmar

I just happened to come across this collection by Karl Grobl this morning following his recent attendance of the Jim Cline Photo Tour of Myanmar and the pictures selected are fantastic, offering an important documented view of life in Myanmar today which over the past year has seen a huge increase in tourism and will continue to change over the coming years.

Would you consider travelling to North Korea to better understand the realities for people there?

Just one of the incredible pictures inside of this post by +Walter Chang of We Call This Home

It's an interesting view into a country that's so closed to the outside world, and I can really appreciate his sentiment and decision to see inside of a country to better understand it.

People seem to think that our (almost) three years of travel is some long holiday, but the reality is that we have just as many rubbish days as everyone else.

I don't often review eBooks, but I don't always find people trying to promote building a blog to share stories first, and making money second.

My personal preference is people photography over nature, so seeing these pictures of real North Korean life interest me highly

Exploration of North Korean life is something that fascinates me as I really wish to know the truth and realities for the people who live there. This picture helps to bring that reality a little closer.
