On the one hand, banks are obliged to classify this type of investor as "stupid" thus protecting them, on the other hand, a fool and his money are soon parted. 
What happened to personal responsibility? All investments are risky, surely they would have known that. And surely they would have had their home, cars, debts paid off after winning that money. I hope they loose. You live and you learn. 
Personal responsibility vanished when the last labour government starting paying people to live at home.
