    Youth Connections Caseworker, 2011 - present
    Youth Connections Caseworker & Group Trainer delivering ART & ICT Programmes that are rich in artist models and exemplars. These workshops are communicated with clarity and enthusiasm, to direct, encourage and to engage through creative exercise and enterprise. A skilled facilitator in creative production, with eighteen years experience as a visual artist, thirteen years working with digital media, and ten years working with young people. Available by appointment in the Northern Rivers Region, NSW, AU. My art practice is an integral element of my work with young people. Art has given me the tools and the identity to connect, engage and assist them on their journey. I strongly believe that my potential to affect positive change for the youth is tied to my own creativity. In these various roles I have been successful in transferring my enthusiasm and knowledge to help others overcome obstacles, gain confidence, achieve success and feel empowered to extend their abilities.

    Visual Artist, 1996 - present
    Dustin took to drawing and designing patterns as a teenager and developed a tribal aesthetic which translated into tattoo work for his friends. From these black ink drawings he began experimenting with coloured drafting markers and a colourful stylisation ensured. Later investigating the forms of native New Zealand flora Dustin produced his first set of exhibited works in 2000. Appeal for these works lead to a series of murals where he began exploring acrylic paint and digital rendering for the first time. In 2007 out of necessity to develop, Dustin shifted to graphic software that enabled the exploration of a larger format. He went to work transposing his drawings to this new scale and began painting with enamel on acrylic. In order to create these paintings from ink origins with their fine lines, Dustin bent paper clips to apply the paint in pools, stipple and ridges. Technically the texture of these works is similar to an aboriginal approach created through the tapping out of the paint. For Dustin this method is seen as a simple mechanism in the meditation to satisfy his artistic vision.

Introduction
// ARTIST STATEMENT

As an artist I rely on the line observed in nature, the line that defines the power of our world unconditionally. This line is the trajectory in the stylization of my art, points where the arc be to correspond to dream, to produce movement from the point, describing the nature of the sacred journey and the choices in our lives. The line functions to a universal analogy, it exists as silent knowledge, often overlooked in everyday life, yet unmistakable and unforgettable wherever it is encountered.

Imbued with life, the intended line traces the existence of powered representations. The scope of this line is the locus of all my work. Read sequentially the narrative of this series expresses its multidimensionality, ubiquitousness and scale. Where I am trying to express it through the media and mixed media: ink through to paint and the eye will direct the colours to balance with the monochromes in racy compositions of the line.
