Meeting of Board of Governors of our Institute

A meeting of BOG members concluded on 22nd April 2017 at our institute. It began with presentation by Principal of the institute and then followed by Academic, Research and Administrative discussions pertaining to the development of the institute. Stalwarts from industry Mr.Sanjay Kirloskar( Chairman & MD, Kirloskar Brothers) & Mrs.P.P.Kulkarni (Trimurti Engineering Tools Pvt. Ltd.) and Eminent Personalities from Academia Dr.G.D.Yadav ( Vice Chancellor of ICT, Mumbai & Recipient of ‘Padmashri Award’), Dr.R.Natarajan ( Former Chairman of AICTE & Former Director of IIT Chennai) and Dr.D.R.More ( Former BCUD Director of Shivaji University) participated in the meeting along with our Management Members, HoDs, Deans, TPOs.

Mr.Anis Mulla, Mr.Sahil Bandar, Mr.Ajinkya Kamble, Mr.Sachin Munde, Mr. Vyakatesh Bhopale - our Final Year IT students Won 2nd Rank in the event “Parikramaa” for their project entitled “Smart Car based on Artificial Intelligence”. The event was organized by on 15th March 2017. The project provides functionalities like Auto Signal Detection, Auto Lane Detection. The Project was guided by Prof. T. I. Bagban.

The Final Year ETC Project entitled “Hybrid Energy (Wind & Solar) System for Rural Electrification”, completed by project group members Mr. Gaurav Ghodake, Mr. Om Nale and Ms. Suvarna Khade. This group has participated in Project Competitions held at various institutes and grabbed many prizes.
The purpose of this project work is to use available renewable energy sources and generate electricity. To accomplish this task students have designed the Wind Tree Structure consisting of Savonius turbines and solar panel. System is able to provide 24x7 Electricity due to wind and sun rays. This kind of wind trees can be planted in rural areas, farms etc. also in campuses of organizations, gardens, at road sides in urban and suburban cities. This project is completed under the guidance of Prof V. B. Sutar.

Paper Presentation and Publication by Mechanical Engg. Students

A group of students from Mechanical engineering department presented 7 research papers at Conference on Recent Challenges in Engineering and Technology (ICRCET-2017). These papers were based on their final year and third year projects and research work done in various areas related to Mechanical Engineering. These papers are also published in the International Journal of Engineering Research in Mechanical and Civil Engineering (IJERMCE). The conference was held at SIT to provide an opportunity to research scholars, delegates and students to interact and share their experience and knowledge in technology application.
Some of the themes in Mechanical Engineering included Human-Robot Interfaces, Manufacturing process and automation, Robotics, Automation and control systems, Production Management, Finite Element Analysis, etc. The quality of papers and the results obtained by the students was appreciated at the conference by the session chairman, judging panel and delegates. The students were guided by Prof. S. A. Soundattikar and Prof. G. C. Mekalke with a constant support from Prof. Dr. V. R. Naik, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department.

Our Final Year ETC Students Mr. Omkar Kumbhar, Ms. Pranali Mali and Ms. Jyoti Kore have completed the project entitled “3D-Printing on Textile Fabric”. This group has grabbed “First Prize” in National Level Technical Event “Spirit2k17” for Research & Development and “Runner Up Prize” in “Kshitij2k17” for Paper Presentation held on 5th March 2017 at College of Engineering, Pandharpur.
The aim of project is to print the 3-D design on textile fabric by using additive manufacturing process. Fabric as a substrate is used in this project. Polyurethane foam binder resin is material used for printing on substrate. Major applications of this 3-D printer is in fashion technology. This project is guided by Dr. Mrs. V. Jayshree.

PUC CHECK-UP CAMP AT DKTE

To create the awareness among the people about increased pollution due to vehicles , Pollution Under Control (PUC) Check-up Camp was organized on 08th April 2017 by Mechanical Department jointly with M/s Pankaj Fuels (An approved PUC centre by Motor Vehicle Department and Diesel Fuel supply system calibration centre approved by MICO-BOSCH), Kolhapur. During the camp, number of Petrol two & four wheeler vehicles along with the Diesel vehicles were also tested for their exhaust emissions with the help of advanced PUC testing machines and accordingly the test reports and PUC certificates were issued to the vehicle owners. Mr. Patil from M/s Pankaj Fuels explained the different factors on which the pollution depends and he also advised different vehicle owners regarding the remedies in order to overcome the pollution problem. There was very a nice response from DKTE faculty and staff, students along with the outside people. This activity was co-ordinated by Prof. A.D.Patil from Mechanical Engineering Department.
