Today marks the 63rd birthday for the Peak District becoming Britain's first national park. We've been around the world and back in the last few months, and it's nice to be back in sunny Sheffield with the Peaks just on our doorstep.

Have a lovely, loooong Easter weekend everyone!

It started out as discussion about the HS2 rail system that developed into a research frenzy by +Jeremy Hoke and +Sarah Haynes to find alternatives from around the world.

What they found will astonish you. Driverless cars, floating trains, you name it. The future of transportation is going to be very, very, very....very fast.

Richard Branson strikes again!

Watch this video to see what his current project entails - the world's greenest skyscrapers - and the plans for a new hotel on the moon. Yes, you heard right. On the moon.

A cracking new blog from +Matthew Hall on the beauty of industrial photography from the 1950s.

These works pave the way for any contemporary photographers specialising in industry.

With the prominence of heavy industry in the 1950’s, there were visibly a lot more designers working within this area, experimenting with it and actively promoting it. Maybe it’s the region I live in or the clients D4 work with that’s had an influence on me. Maybe it’s because I’m an outsider to it, but …

Can you imagine what our region could achieve if the great steel companies of Sheffield were as bold and ambitious as Outokumpo?

D4 are not alone in our mission to bring quality brand design to heavy industry. Here is the first (in what I hope will be many) critiques of new design work created specifically for industrial companies around the world. When Finnish steel giant Outokumpo acquired Inoxum, the stainless steel arm of ThyssenKrupp, they needed a new vision …

Mellowcabs are up and running in South Africa, but would you use electric cycle taxis if they came to your hometown?

Imagine using one of these on your dinner hour to run errands around town? So efficient. So free. So eco-friendly!

If you like big, playful public art then you'll love Hungry Castle from Barcelona. Their current project is 'Laser Cat', and they've also created a giant Lionel Richie head.

Cats and Lionel - what is there not to like?

We've had our first update from Seoul, South Korea.

Day 1 - Paul and Justin are settling in, and taking foodie tips from a popular blog by Eat Your Kimchi. Looks like it could be a mental week in Seoul, but with some delicious food to keep the chaps going!

Meanwhile, back at HQ. We have Sarah's homemade scones with homemade jam and clotted cream to get us through Friday. Yum yum. #foodies
