A Rose is A Rose
As a thorn pricks your finger while gardening, does it not protect the plant from what it believes to be a hostile environment?   You may curse the thorn for its existence  and yet it did nothing wrong.   It served its purpose.   It let you know it was ther...

Breathe mom, just BREATHE!
Breathe Mom, just breathe .  A long lingering breath is taken, as it tempers the fierceness of the moment, she finds relief.  Given in jest but found intensely profound, the decision to carry on is made in that moment of comfort found in the solace of those...

REFLECTIONS

We went for my mother's 75th Birthday Outing - was just four of us so the booth in the dining area was perfect. She especially liked that the backs of the seats were not only comfortable but tall. Friendly hosting greeted and seated us right away (thank goodness 'cause parking was a bit scarce)but she is a city lover and DC resident for over 25 years so the short stint didn't even faze her! Our service was exceptional! The wait staff were right on. Pleasant, courteous didn't hover but our needs were met quickly and graciously. Thanks Mike, it was wonderful to see my mother enjoy herself! The food. WOW! We came for brunch (our original destination had closed) so stumbling onto this gem was adventurous and have to say it was delicious! Mom had their Benedict, my daughter had French toast, my aunt and I had their two egg meal. We started with an order of the Apple Fritters as an appetizer,4 to 4 (again thanks for the suggestion Mike, scrumptious!). From the bacon, ham & sausage with Hall Fries (mom wanted to know what half-fries were:)) to the deserts, this was probably the best brunch I have had in years! Reasonably priced we left full, content and had a great time! Oh have to shout out about their Bloody Mary, SPECTACULAR! Spicy compliment to the meal! Good would be an understatement!

I went in for a quick in-between bite and found much, much more! With just a pita pizza ordered I was offered a taste of their lentil soup while I waited. What a treat! This soup was delicious! It was rich, creamy and robust in flavor. Almost full and wondering where on earth I was going to put my meal (had decided I would take most of it to go) but could not. This to was delicious! I had to eat every bite, ON THE SPOT! This was so good I can't wait to go back to this adorable little spot for a main course meal! The space is quaint and cozy with a latticed ceiling giving the impression of being in an orchard! Love it!
