My God, I'm so sad to hear this. As a teen (even preteen) I looked forward to listening to Casey's Top 40 countdown. I was crazy for music, even way back then. Keep in mind: there was only the radio or 45 records (33s were just uncool and for "old people"), and reel-to-reel was for the high class rich people. 8-tracks were still around, but the "new technology" was the tiny little audio cassette. I'd threaten to just about throttle my little sister, Teresa Sigler, if she'd make a single sound as I tried to create my own audio cassettes by taping his shows over the radio. I loved this ol' guy, and he was my "celebrity crush" as I grew up.
RIP, Casey... you set the standard, and you were "the voice" for so many.
I'm "keeping my feet on the ground, but still reaching for the stars."
