Also, city council votes unanimously to remove full vehicle lanes and add 8 miles of bike lanes to the downtown core area.

They need to stop wasting obey on green paint and start repairing the pavement. The green lanes on Spring Street in Los Angeles are flaking off and are very slippery when wet.
The best bike facility is good pavement. Second best is to clean the debris off the shoulder or right hand side of the street. Third best are traffic control devices (stop lights) that detect bicycles.
