And here we go

"The source code for 4.2 is being pushed to AOSP right now. Look for
it under the name "android-4.2_r1" once the replication completes. The
matching development branch (for CTS contributions) is jb-mr1-dev, and
all the changes are merged into the master branch where platform
contributions are accepted" - JBQ

Let the fun begin!

Update nexus devices? (One, s, galaxy, 7)

hell ya boii. cant wait till its on my epic 4g touch
nexus should have an ota update. ill check when i get home

-There is no support for 4.2 on Nexus S and Xoom. Those devices should
continue using 4.1.2.

Sucks for the NS, hope we'll get custom builds then.

Guess my n7 won't be stock for long......

End of the line for the Nexus S and Xoom. Oh well

true those devices are getting a bit old. n7 should for sure (thats what i have)

I was sure the nexus s would still be supported. I mean, if it could handle 4.1, why can't it handle 4.2?

when will CM10 4.2 come to the TORO galaxy Nexus?

it might get 4.2 but if it doesnt get official i wouldnt be surprised to see some cm love with a port

I don't want  official 4.2...I want CM10

will there be nightlies pushed out for the Samsung Galaxy S 3?

Will CM10 be merging 4.2 like it did 4.12, or are we looking at CM11?
Edit, just read the earlier post.. "Oh and yes, before its asked, 4.2 will be CM 10.1 (not CM11). " Good Stuff.

bout freaking time wooot woooooot!!

Hey +CyanogenMod as exciting as this news is, maybe you should have kept quiet.

In other words. "OMG ETA ETA WHEN IS MY DEVICE GONNA BE UPDATED TO THE VERSION THAT IS JUST BEING RELEASED!?"

"If AOSP starts pointing toward Nexus 4, you are having a bad problem, and you will not go to space today (i.e.: there is nothing in AOSP related to Nexus 4)."

Does that mean Nexus 4 not supported by AOSP? +Jean-Baptiste Quéru

Yee Haw! :-)

Aww man, sad day, no love for the Nexus S line of devices? :'(

Cool. I just put CM10 on my DroidX2. Its like a whole new phone. No more lag.

Can't wait till my vzn nexus gets 4.2 in 2014

if only Samsung released their sources so efficiently.

Wow, 2 great announcements in 1 day!

no 4.2 update for Nexus S or XOOM? Makes me sad even though I dont have those devices...

Nice news and thanks for your efforts!

I need to get me a Nexus 10!

Uh, I'm confused now. I was going to buy the Nexus 4 because I thought it would be the best choice regarding AOSP. Should I still get it once the Play Store has them in stock again? What's the reason for not having AOSP support? Licensing, like on the Nexus 7 3G? I wish there would be a bit more information on that news post. :(

I'm loving CM10, so I hope that the 4.2 features get rolled in soon!

"If AOSP starts pointing toward Nexus 4, you are having a bad problem, and you will not go to space today" +Jean-Baptiste Quéru you so funny with the XKCD quote!

err, nexus 4 not in aosp? LG or qualcomm doing their slow job again?

+Dennis K. On Thursday, Decemter 27th JBQ will write: "I am glad that I can announce new member in our AOSP device list: LG E960 known as Nexus 4. We are glad that our partners helped us resolve licensing issues and we can include this amazing device in our AOSP device tree"

That's what Observer said.

No update for nexus s is kind of dissapointing, but expected

too bad for my galaxy s1 ... wich has not gyroscope for the photosphere :(

Very Nice! I can't wait to put a stable CM 10 on my Touchpad! :)

Any love for cm10 on HTC desireHD? Inspire 4G?

*How about Love for a prepaid LG Revere?*

Daneil, you are so right. Life begins when smart phones are set down for at least 1020 minutes at a time. OMG

+Dennis K. I'm fairly certain +Jean-Baptiste Quéru can't comment on what the issues are and any time estimates on when, if ever, such issues will be resolved.

If CM/AOSP support for a device is important to you, the answer is easy - don't buy the device until those issues are resolved, and if you have already ordered, cancel it and reorder once things are looking better.  It's never a good idea to purchase the first production batch of any new device anyway, and if the AOSP issues do get resolved, the device probably will be readily available with plenty of stock by then.

sucks that the Nexus S got dropped from AOSP...

Does this fix the call volume/quality issues many of us with the s3 have been having? I had to swap roms it was so bad.

Now waiting for the first CM Basel on 4.2 for UMTS_everest

And the patient waiting for incorporation into CM begins anew. :)

Can't wait to see it on my galaxy note 2 :)

What is happening to Steffani on bold and beautiful?

too fast released cm ten stable on 4.1.2 tree. i think that's better to release on 4.2 source tree. isn't it?

+Ramy Ragaei Just a warning - the maintainer for note2 is relatively new to device maintenance (he's historically one of our UI/apps guys).  He's also going to be losing his support team with CM11 unless Samsung gets their act together.  (All current Exynos4 maintainers are in the process of moving to other platforms due to burnout.)

If AOSP starts pointing toward Nexus 4, you are having a bad problem, and you will not go to space today (i.e.: there is nothing in AOSP related to Nexus 4).
But why? Will the source appear later?

CM already posted that 4.2 will be CM10.1 in another post.

To bad about the Nexus S it is only 2 years old.

I just flashed cyanogen 10, I am looking forward to 4.2!

I had this on my phone once and I NEVER knew what it was. Can someone explain?

Well nice for my phone but cyanogenmod on the nexus was not as good as googles own firmware

no official 4.2 for Nexus S, hoping atleast CM continues its support :)

Can't wait for a little taste of cm10.1

Good puzzler lets hope u can remember it now

Nice! Can't wait to see this on my device!

Still trying to get jelly bean for my android

Sounds like my VZW Nexus is going to be my next device getting some CM goodness. My original Droid never ran better than it did on 7.1 and I'm not looking forward to waiting 3 months for Big Dread to release an update for my Nexus.

Good afternoon. I need helo forma you. I hace a motorola spice xt530 (dominó plus) and i want to root it. How can i do it?

How do you guys build the code for non nexus devices? Would make an aosp rom for xperia 2011 if i'd know how to start with porting from sources for sony devices...

Oh wow I just got 4.1 nightly build!

Too bad the 2 android devices I have are the nexus s and xoom =( ... thank god for custom roms ( but more importantly thank the developers!)

yohoooo, this is just great.
i'm waiting .....

Come on HTC One S aka "ville"!

I cant wait to get it on my sgh-t999

you sound cool so im gonna follow you

Looking forward to seeing CM on the Nexus 10... before I buy one.

Looking forward to the paranoid Android devs getting their hands on the source , 4.1.2 with 4.2 gapps is awesome already on my epic 4g :-)

Stable CM10 epicmtd running like a champ!

Will Motorola Photon benefit from this as well

Put cm10 on my galaxy 3 and it is sweet best thing I ever did keep up the good work

I'm sad that the Notification Power Widget isn't expected to be merged in to CM10.1... This is the new quick settings, no? The advantage to the Google method is that they show additional information in Quick Settings, like Battery percentage, CPU utilization, Memory charge, etc. An option at the very least would be nice.

I'm sure that the devs will bake into their roms

Got the OTA patch on my N7 . Just seeing chrome is laggy and I mean laggy! Also a weird box shows uip at unlock screan on left side.

I hope acer picks it up man

i am missing it what is this all about? What was this created for?

Cyanogenmod was created to give people options on their phones to make them better. My 2 year og epic 4g is on newest version of android that it would have not ever seen if it weren't for the great cm crew and devs for my phone. Just Google your device on cm10, search and read.

I was wondering... Will the original Galaxy S get CM10.1 now that Google has stopped supporting the Nexus S?

CM10 is best after-market rom! Thanks!

Lol realized box is for adding widgets at lock screen

Looking forward to your updates!

When will 4.2 come on galaxy S2?

4.2 is all about battery life iirc... can't wait!

After updating Nexus 7, I can no longer change the unlocking security method to "none", "slide" or "face unlock" gives this message: "disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage". Anyone knows why this is showing up?
-- Edit
"Clear Credentials" solved it!

Sweet. Got my CDMA port and is great!!!

Just a thought... could the new lock screen be optional in your build as I'm not keen on the extra finger swipes needed for more than two short cuts?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks its more complicated than is needed.

This is seriously bad news if the Nexus 4 never makes it to AOSP.

If people can get jellybean to boot on the og droid, developers will get 4.2 on the nexus s and Xoom.

Nexus S will be 100% supported by CM! Like it was with SGS1 (CM9 and CM10 and surely now CM10.1) ;) just wish a good luck to CM devs ;).

You all are awesome!!! Bring it on, cyanogenmod!!

Hi guys I Would like to know when is available HTC ONE X Cyanogenmod, Android 4.2?
Ryan R

Does anyone know if AOSP 4.2 has been merged into the CyanogenMod nightly builds yet? Specifically for Galaxy Nexus (GSM/maguro)?

Also, if there is someplace I can look this up, please let me know. I haven't had much luck finding it. I do realize it's only been 4 days, but these guys move fast. :)
