I think Google+ profile photos might be excessively large now...

My father-in-law is receiving a bone marrow transplant today because someone joined the National Marrow Donor Program.

If you're not registered, take the time to do so. It's easy. You sign up, they send you a kit, you take a few cheek swabs and send it back. That's it.

These look like some great coworking spaces. I'd love to visit kleverdog in LA, but I'm about an hour away. Maybe next time...

Of course, CO+HOOTS is my hometown favorite in Phoenix. And compared to the prices of the spaces in this article ($20-35 / day), is a total steal! :)

Watched Let Me In last night. It was a great remake, but I think the original ( Let the Right One In ) was still better.

If you enjoy vampire movies, take a look.

I love the Phoenix Public Market and I think Oakville will be a great addition to downtown. The focus on local and organic is definitely welcome.

At the same time, I wonder if downtown needs a more full-service grocery store, too. Can these smaller ones provide the necessary infrastructure to sustain downtown residents?

Any downtown Phoenix residents have thoughts on this?

I'd love for there to be something like that downtown, but in the meantime, Oakville and Public Market do enough that I can go to the store alot less often. Oakville is a lot closer to a full store than I was concerned it might be. I got the impression it might be just posh food and nothing else. The fact that Oakville is right next to CVS helps with this, too.

I've started becoming a regular at Lux because of their amazing mochas and homemade whipped cream. They have a great atmosphere with interesting art on the walls and tables as well as cool, interesting music. The place is also full of interesting, friendly people.

Mint Thai knows how to make a tofu dish, they get it just right. If you're looking for a great vegetarian Thai meal then I highly suggest Mint Thai. I usually go there for lunch and get the 102 (yellow curry) with tofu.

Copper Star is a great, local Phoenix coffee shop with friendly staff, good coffee and free wifi. They also have a great table of information about local events, companies and interests that always intrigues me. It's an easy and convenient place to meet friends to talk or business partners to work.

I've been to Steve's several times and it has been a consistently great experience. The employees are friendly and they have excellent coffee. I love sipping a hot mocha after work, served in a nice ceramic mug (order "for here" :). They also never mind when we bring in a large, boisterous crowd for Phoenix Friday Coffee.

Liberty Market was this weeks home for Phoenix Friday Coffee. I loved the feel of the space and the coffee drink selection was amazing. We sat at the high counter near the E-61 Bar and had an assortment of drinks: cafe mocha, espresso, cappuccino, and cortadito. I heard nothing but praise from the PFC group. A great addition to downtown Gilbert!
