Curt Franklin is the executive producer of online radio at InformationWeek, Dark Reading, and Network Computing. Most recently executive editor for EnterpriseEfficiency.com, he was online community manager for Interop and formerly was a senior analyst in the InfoWorld Test Center. Curt has been a
free-lance journalist writing and podcasting for titles including Dark
Reading, CIO and Business VoIP Report. He was formerly podcast
evangelist and community editor for TechWeb. Prior to beginning the
post in podcasting, he was Senior Technology Editor for Network
Computing and Secure Enterprise magazines.
Curt began his on-line publishing career in 1986 when he was hired to
coordinate special events for BIX, the electronic component of BYTE
magazine. Since that time, he has worked on several consumer and
business to business publications, merging the best aspects of print
and broadcast with on-line bulletin boards, CompuServe, CDs, Notes, the
web, blogs, podcasting and multi-media.
Curt is the author of hundreds of magazine articles, the co-author of
three books, and has been a frequent speaker at computer and networking
industry conferences across North America and Europe. Curt is a
painter, cook, and multi-instrumentalist musician; and is active in
amateur radio (KG4GWA), scuba diving in the springs and tropical seas
of Florida, and in the Florida Master Naturalist program.
