We've been very pleased with Cummings every time they have come to our home. They are quick to respond and follow up, and the work has always been excellent. Recently, we got a quote from another well known Tucson plumbing company (you've seen their commercials, I'm sure) to run a new water main and plumbing into our Foothills home (nearly 600 feet from the road and up a steep hill). The other company came in with a bid of nearly $60,000 and they had an add on charge for an extended warranty. Cummings came out and gave us a quote for the same job and their price was just under $25,000. Cummings has always done a good job for us and we will be trusting them to do this big job for us in the near future too. I see on some reviews people have complained about mark up on parts. As a business owner, I understand their reasoning perfectly. They are using their time and gas to pick these things up and sometimes multiple trips are necessary. Some people just do not understand the overhead associated with running a business. You have rent, insurance, equipment, etc to pay for. Many of these things you do not see up front.

I've been a customer of Cummings for several years for both my home and a rental property. Today, when I called them about their visit earlier this week after which they pronounced my dishwasher drain fixed but it wasn't, they informed me that "we don't work on appliances" (which they had not told me in my previous years of dealing with them or during their visit earlier this week). This was after I had paid them $100 to fix the dishwasher drain, which wasn't draining and still isn't. During their earlier visit, I received no assurance that the problem was caused by anything other than a slow drain or that they didn't work on appliances, Now I'm looking for another plumber and removing Cummings from my speed-dialing software.

We had a challenging project with a drain embedded in an adobe wall. The Cummings Team came up with an elegant solution to minimize damage to the adobe and to the surrounding area. We appreciate their excellent communication and problem solving to make the needed repairs. A big shout out to John W, Adam, Steven, and Kenneth and the crew who did the trenching and repairs. Beware of this place. They overcharge for parts and tell you to fix something when you don't have to. I can understand 100-200% markup for parts from retail price. But with over 300% markup, they are raping you. See the invoice picture I attached and you can research the price for yourself. The estimate from my invoice: Service call $99 Condenser Motor $329.62 <=== (retail is only around $100) Capacitor $132.64 <=== ($20-30 part, unless their capacitor is made of gold!) Labor for 1.5hrs at $99/hr $148.5 Total with tax $751!!! The A/C at my rental home stopped working. The fan stopped spinning. I called Cummings Plumbing since they have good reviews from google. The tech came out and said that "the bearing on the condenser motor is shot and needs to be replaced". He also suggested replacing the capacitor. I decided to have somebody else come out to fix. The guy said the only thing bad that he could find was the capacitor. He bought a new one for about $25 and replaced it within 30 mins. My A/C is running fine now with a total cost of $125 vs $751 from Cummings. Either their technician is dishonest and wanted me to replace parts that is unnecessary or they have in-competent technician who thinks the part is bad when it's good. Either way, I'm not sure which is worst. Buyer beware!!! I called Cummings, explained what happened, and gave them a chance to make things right. They basically didn't believe me and thought I was lying. I don't need to be making stuff up when the capacitor actually cost $25. They knew full well that they are overcharging for parts but still decided to ignore it. They said they would investigate and call me back but I never called me back. I call back to see if they have done anything and they said the AC repair lead will investigate and would call me back. It's been two weeks and I have not heard anything. So, apparently they also have bad customer service and won't do anything about it after they have taken your money. Also, don't believe all the "good" reviews from google, like me. If you look closely you can see that someone from the shop probably wrote the "good" comments. Somehow all the good reviews have 3-5 rated by user that it's useful (even when the comment is only one sentence! how could that be useful). All the bad reviews have no comments (because no one usually rate any comments/reviews). You can read all the reviews yourself and made an inform decision. You have been warned. Stay away from this dishonest place!!!

Had to use them to fix an overflowing toilet (that I should have known better than to let the homeless people use).Overall I was happy with their service and quality. The repair tech was prompt and courteous and did not leave a mess when he was finished. will absolutely use them again if need arise.

Terrible experience. I had a water leak at one of my rental properties. Was quoted somewhere around $125/hr. They were honest about the hrs worked. However, their markup of parts is ridiculous (5x higher than retail prices in some cases). I was charged $155 in parts that I can get at a retail store for around $50 total. I received an invoice and called to get clarification about the markup of parts. I have contacted them 5 times and have not received 1 response. Guess they don't want any payment. I also have a $10 misc fee with no explanation on the invoice. So I get billed for nothing? Is that supposed to help cover the plumbers time since he got a flat tire on the way to my house and was 2hrs later than they initially told me it would be. Al Coronado quoted me for $276 labor and parts for the same job. I went with Cummings because I knew it was a quick fix but I did not expect such a high markup. Just read other reviews and saw similar reviews from those with bad experiences. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUY. THEY ARE NOT UP FRONT ABOUT COSTS EXCEPT FOR THE HOURLY RATE. THEY REEL YOU IN WITH THE HR RATE AND THEN RAPE YOU ON MARKUP OF PARTS AND OTHER HIDDEN FEES.

When I was given a quote I was never informed of a travel fee for being outside the metro area. After calling and discussing the fee I was told it was $35 to Vail and they were sorry. I informed them that I was charged $75 and they corrected the $35 and stated for septic service it was $75.00. A travel feed was never mentioned in the quote despite the fact that I gave them my address. Additionally, the technician stated my septic drained good but had a bad pitch in a line but he never measured the pitch. Does this mean he had calibrated eyes and could read a pitch in a line without a level? I am not happy with any of the service and will never use Cummings Plumbing again and will recommend my friends find another company.

We hired Cummings Plumbing to pump our septic tank. My husband decided to dig the hole before Cummings came on the call. It took a lot of time and he was dreading the next time it had to be pumped. The Cummings Plumbing person told us of a quick time saving tip that would increase the height of the septic cover, while at the same time providing easy access to it. Such a simple solution and a great time saver.... Of course, we love that our tank is now empty.... :)
