On April 25th, 2015 a massive 7.8 earthquake devastated Nepal. Two weeks later, Nepal was hit by another 7.3 earthquake. One organization banded together to help where others refused to go.
People Helping People International (PHPI) is an organization that rebuilds communities after a natural disaster and provides resources to help these areas become self-sufficient once again. On #WorldWaterDay
, we highlight the work PHPI has done to reconstruct communities and provide sanitation and sterilization systems to give these communities clean water.
In January, PHPI completed the reconstruction of their first school in Pokhari Village in Nepal. The school was built with earthbag technology, an eco-friendly, inexpensive, and seismic-resistant method of construction. The school can serve 150 students from grades 1 – 5.
