Check out my race racap from the Vegas half marathon. It was probably the hardest race I've ever ran but there were a couple of big accomplishments for me.
This was probably the hardest half marathon I've ran. It took a lot of guts to get those medals at the end. But everything always works out in Vegas.

Despite the really bad stomach pains and the 4 bathroom breaks needed before my leg of the relay even began, it was such a fun race. And our team did awesome! Plus Brian finished his third half marathon!
I finished leg 5 of the Colfax Marathon relay, despite having severe stomach cramps and 4 bathroom breaks before the race even started.

I wrote something: Looking at sugar and fat consumption. Fat isn't the problem.
Fat and sugar consumption around the world shows that fat isn't the enemy.

If you're looking for a run sprint or olympic triathlon in a fantastic location, you can't go wrong with Bass Lake. Such a fun course and incredibly beautiful. Also a little challenging with all the hills but definitely worth it.

A quick update on the 5K I ran this past weekend. And a video of the kids fun run. Quite possibly the coolest kids fun run EVER. I mean, who wouldn't want to start a run to lights and sirens from police cruisers and ambulances? I highly recommend this race to folks next year. http://www.agirlwithcrohns.com/airlife-memorial-5k-race-recap/

The @GraffitiRun was in Denver this past weekend. It was fun despite the cold, wind and rain.
The @GraffitiRun spread color in Denver at Sloan's Lake. Such a great run, even in the cold, wind, and rain.

I had the pleasure of tasting Izzy's Ice Cream during my first visit to Twin Cities. My friend said be prepared for the line and the smell. Sure enough the line was out the door but it moved quickly. It smelled heavenly! I had a chocolate cone with a salted caramel izzy on top and both were delicious, especially the salted caramel. I had samples of a few of the others and everything was so tasty. This will become a stop on all my trips to the cities.

Overall, this is a clean, standard hotel. It's nothing to write home about but the bed is comfortable and the staff is incredibly friendly. My room was clean and had no issues with anything in the room. The housekeeping staff was so nice - I was always greeted with a hello and a smile. The front desk staff greeted every time I came in the hotel. The fitness room is minimal. And by minimal there are three cardio machines in a very tiny room. The outdoor pool was small but plenty of play room for myself, two other adults, and three children. One side is shaded with pool chairs for those that want to stay "cool" in Texas. I was really surprised by the size of the pool but noticed that all other hotels had pools about the same size so it could be due to water restrictions. It's within walking distance to a Waffle House for food or to the mall where there is a Target and other shopping. Although walking in Texas in summer will get you crazy looks. If you drive for 2 minutes or less you'll have access to a variety of restaurants and dining options, a Wal-Mart and other shopping.

I stayed here only 3 weeks after the hotel opened so it's obviously going to have some kinks that need to be worked out. The check in process was painful. After taking a while to check in, I get to my room only to find that the key card didn't work. I go back to the lobby to let them know and the lady (pretty sure she was the manager) acted like I just didn't know what I was doing and escorted me back to my room saying she had just checked it and it worked fine. Turns out I wasn't crazy and my room key didn't work. There were two elevators and the wait was terrible. One morning, not exaggerating, it took me almost 15 minutes just to get out of the hotel because the elevator never stopped to pick me up. I decided to take the stairs hoping I could get to the lobby, but it only goes to the second floor so I had to wait on the second floor for the elevator. It became a running joke for the people that rode the elevator together. Overall, the room was fine. It was clean and well-serviced. The beds were comfortable. I didn't have a TV remote in the room and had to call twice to get one but I didn't spend a lot of time sitting around watching TV anyway. The location is great. There are two subway stops right at the hotel that can get you to 3rd/53rd in Manhattan in 15 minutes or you can ride all the way to the Freedom Tower. I didn't find too many restaurants around the area but there is a gas station not far in case you forget something or don't want to purchase at the hotel.

We were staying at the Hilton for the Disney Princess half so we decided to carb load here the night before. I asked if there was room for two and after some contemplation the host said yes and asked us to wait for a few minutes at the bar while he prepared a table. The wait at the bar ended up being 15 minutes while we scanned over all the empty tables in the restaurant. The waitress took another 10 minutes to take our drink order, again, with a restaurant that wasn't even half full. I ordered the lasagna and my husband ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo. When the food arrived my husbands order was wrong and when he said so, she asked him if he was sure. As if we couldn't remember what we ordered. My lasagna was definitely reheated - it had that crispiness around the edges - which is not something I would expect from a restaurant charging me $25 for a plate of lasagna. While we were waiting for our food, a couple had to go find someone to take their drink order after sitting at the table for a long time. Overall the food was subpar and overpriced, the staff was horrible, the wait times for a half full restaurant were terrible. Don't waste your time here. I would recommend walking the 5 or 10 minutes across the street to Downtown Disney and grabbing food there.

I arrived after midnight and was warmly greeted by the front desk and promptly given keys and showed the elevator. The room was very clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It's a pretty standard hotel but what really set it apart was Nelly, my housekeeper that left a towel bunny on my bed. That is service above and beyond what I was expecting, especially for a Holiday Inn. The hotel is right across from the Xcel Energy Center which means there are lots of restaurant options within a short walk. Harriet Island, where I would be spending most of my time, is a short walk across the river. Overall, excellent staff, excellent service. I didn't eat at the restaurant while there but every night it was packed so either the drinks are cheap, the food is delicious, or both. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to St. Paul.

This is my go-to florist in Murphy. I'm from out of town so whenever I need to send flowers to someone in Murphy, I just find the flowers online and submit the order. The flowers are always beautiful and delivered right on time. I had a last minute emergency about a year ago and called to see what they could do. Without any hesitation they found flowers that would work and could be delivered same day. The customer service is spot on and I couldn't be happier to work with them.

We stayed here for the Disney Princess half marathon. The location is great, just a 5 minute walk to Downtown Disney and transportation to the other parks. They also have a shuttle that runs to the Disney parks but don't ask them about a shuttle to anywhere else. The staff was hit or miss. Some of the staff at the front desk and concierge were great, others didn't seem to really care. The cleaning staff were nice and greeted us in the halls every time we passed. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, but the rooms weren't anything special. The pool area is nice and their fitness center was bigger than the standard hotel fitness center. We had the breakfast buffet at Covington Mill every day we were there. The staff here was below average. The food was okay but it wasn't worth $20 per person. It included the standard hot and cold breakfast items with made to order pancakes, omelets, etc. We also dined at Andiamo while staying there and I'll be writing a separate review because it was the worst experience we had during our stay. I suggest the short walk into Downtown Disney to eat - they have a variety of choices that could fit any appetite or budget. I expect a certain level of quality with the name Hilton but I was just underwhelmed by this hotel and it's staff. If we go back to this area, I will stay at an actual Disney property or try another hotel near Downtown Disney.
