Another cute pattern from the Sew What Club. For members, the Cannes pattern will be released on August 1st. This is such a cute swim coverup, I decided I wanted it a little shorter than called for in the pattern, so I ma...

I miss this little lady.
My oldest son and oldest daughter went to visit their grandparents (two sets) in Seattle for the summer. They've been gone for six long weeks. I know they are having the time of their lives enjoying Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousin...

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. We had a low key 4th this year which was weird, and our older two are still in Seattle and that combination made me sad. Usually we are at the beach or in Seattle with my family. Instead we stayed local and i...

The Sew What Club
What's the Sew What Club, you ask? It's a monthly pattern subscription for children and women's patterns. A pattern fix, if you will. Kelly from Sewing in No Man's Land came up with this great idea, got a bunch of other celebrity , I mean sewing bloggers in...

Just a quick post today. I made another pair of oliver+s class picnic shorts for Day #3 of Kid's Clothes Week. These are for Miss L, but she is visiting Grandparents for the summer so they will be TRAVELING to her via USPS tomorrow. See that? I went with th...

Stocking up for summer.
This summer I really wanted to try and complete Miss L's wardrobe with mostly handmade items. Miss B doesn't need clothes since she gets to surround herself with barely worn items Miss L grew out of last year. The girls share a closet and Bella's side was b...

One more for KCW
Well, this is it for me for Kid's Clothes Week, I made this last Friday but didn't take pictures in time. That's how it is lately and that's ok. Anyway, may I present, yet another oliver+s Roller Skate Dress ! I've lost count of how many I've made, maybe 6?...

It's that time again!
Yep, Kid's Clothes Week is here again. I missed out on last year's summer session because we were on vacation. But, this year I am home and ready to sew. This summer the theme is Traveling. This dress has nothing to do with traveling, so there's that. I've ...

Sewing for Easter
I think my favorite season to sew for is spring, especially here in the south. Spring starts early and with a bang. Everything blooms at once and if you blink, you'll miss it. After about two weeks of spring (I may be exaggerating just a little) summer sett...

After a traumatic experience with an emergency vet, that left our cat in need of further care, we took him to Midway Animal Hospital. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly when I arrived, the vet tech was very gentle with our cat during the initial exam and our experience with Dr. Lobeck was exceptional. He went out of his way to call and update us every morning with the status of our kitty. I really can't say enough how much I appreciated the level of service we received and the prices after our terrible previous experience with another vet. We have several friends who take their pets to this hospital and they have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hardee and the rest of the staff. We were able to bring our kitty home yesterday and he is finally returning to his old self. Thank you Midway Animal Hospital!

Terrible experience! Different doctors telling you different things. They are also unable to insert a catheter on a SEDATED cat without puncturing his urethra thus causing $500 more dollars in damage and who knows how much else, since we now have to take him to another vet to make sure he is okay after his stay at this place. DO NOT GO HERE. You will be overcharged, lied to, and they will try to convince you that their incompetence was merely an expected "complication." We will be calling the manager and will NOT be visiting this "hospital" ever again.
