Friends of Rotherfield & Brook Surgeries’ Annual Coffee morning is on Saturday 26 August from 10am to 12 noon on the green behind Rotherfield Surgery (in the village hall if it is wet).

Midsummer Monteverdi

Crowborough Choral Society present music by Claudio Monteverdi and his English contemporaries in the Church of St. Denys, Rotherfield. They will be accompanied by Robin Jeffery, lute, Christopher Harris, organ, The Sussex String Trio and conducted by Musical Director, Mark Beesley.

The performance starts at 7.30 pm on Saturday 24th June at St Denys Church, Rotherfield TN6 3FD. Tickets cost £15 including a light supper and are available from or from choir members.

Christmas Celebration with Crowborough Choral Society

Crowborough Choral Society presents a Christmas Celebration, a superb mix of festive music for all the family with spoken contributions from John Marsh of Radio Two.

The venue will once more be Crowborough Community Centre, where a similar previous programme played to a packed house. The date is Saturday 10th December at 7.30 p.m.

There will be lots of opportunities for the audience to join in with well loved carols. Bring your friends and family and get the Christmas season off to a great start.

Get advice and guidance at the Wealden Works Careers Fair

On Monday October 3, Wealden District Council is inviting everyone aged 25 or under to the third Wealden Works Careers Fair at the East Sussex National Hotel in Uckfield (TN22 5ES) between 9:30am and 3pm. And it’s FREE!
In attendance will be representatives from the public sector, local and national companies, charities and further education organisations to offer help and advice on potential careers, training and apprenticeships. All secondary schools from across Wealden have been invited to attend.

Alongside the exhibition, Wealden District Council is working with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to highlight important aspects of road safety as part of their current campaigns with young drivers.

East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre is a registered charity working in partnership with Adult Social Care to provide a no charge mobile information and advice service for Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people living in East Sussex. The vehicle is equipped to offer demonstrations of assistive equipment and hearing screening tests.

The mobile unit will be visiting Crowborough on Thursday 18th August 2016 and will be in Waitrose Car Park, Croft Road from 10.30am – 3.30pm.

The bus is accessible to wheelchair users and representatives from both the East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre and Adult Social Care will be available to provide individual information and advice on all aspects of hearing loss.

Wealden Summer Activity days for all

The summer holidays are here and Wealden’s free Summer Activity days are being held on a Wednesday or Friday near you.

These is a lot going on with sports taster sessions, arts and crafts, team games, and some tasty fun cooking with the Community Chef.
“This year we are encouraging children of all ages to have a go at some of the different sports already on offer in the Wealden area,” said Councillor Claire Dowling, Cabinet member for Public Health and Community Safety.

“Organised sport can provide many youngsters with an opportunity to shine, particularly if is not usually played in the playground. Our sports taster sessions include jiu jitsu, cricket, tennis, hockey, karate, dance and rugby.”

Wealden’s Summer Activity days are just some of the many events taking place up and down the country as part of Play Day 2016, to emphasise the importance of organised play in children’s lives both for the social development and the physical health of future generations.
