In this weeks video health tip, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at osteoarthritis, a chronic joint disorder of cartilage.

80% of North Americans will be diagnosed with osteoarthritis by age 65, and 60% will experience significant joint pain.

Recent research shows osteoarthritis may be caused by inflammation, the same overactive immunity responsible for heart attacks and auto-immune diseases.

In this weeks video health tip, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at the benefits of Maple Water.

Maple water ,the raw, unprocessed sap from maple trees—may be maple farmers’ best-kept, thirst-quenching secret. Traditionally, maple sap, which is 98% water, is boiled down to make everyone’s favorite pancake topping, maple syrup. But the rising popularity of other plant waters, like coconut water, has given maple water a new purpose. Here are some reasons to tap into this lightly-sweet, all-natural drink.

Before it’s boiled down to the sweet stickiness coating your pancakes...

In this weeks video health tip, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at the benefits of adding prebiotics to your diet.

Prebiotics are a type of non-digestible fiber compound found in foods like garlic, onions, asparagus, Jerusalem artichokes, jicama, dandelion greens and leeks, pass through the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract and remain undigested, since the human body can’t fully break them down. Once they pass through the small intestine, they reach the colon, where they’re fermented by the gut microflora.

They help with digestion, lowering inflammation, increasing immunity, weight control and lowering risk of chronic diseases.  People do not consume enough prebiotics.

★★★Reducing Breast Cancer Metastasis★★★

In this weeks video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at a natural compound found in herbs and vegetables that has the ability to stop the spread of triple-negative breast cancer—luteolin.

Triple negative breast cancer accounts for 15-20% of all breast cancers. Triple-negative breast cancers are cancer cells that lack three receptors targeted by current chemotherapy regimens. Because of this lack of receptors, common cancer drugs can’t ‘find’ the cells, and doctors must treat the cancer with extremely aggressive and highly toxic treatment strategies. These cancer cells easily metastasize to other organs throughout the body.

★★★Non Drug Back Pain Therapies★★★
In this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at the latest non drug back pain therapies that medical guidelines are recommending.

For the first time, the American College of Physicians is advising drug free measures for treatment of back pain like chiropractic, tai chi, yoga, and massage before resorting to over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers.

The ACP guidelines also have moved further away from "low-value”s treatments. Low value treatments are those treatments that have now shown to be very ineffective in helping patients achieve relief. Examples of low value treatments are doctors prescribing opioids due to their risk of addiction or overdose, performing MRIs and surgeries, and giving injections (such as steroids) to treat back pain.

In this video, Dr. Matthew Davis, director of Crossroads Chiropractic, shares important information looking at how brain disorders ranging from mood or anxiety to other problems that may include autism, Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis, may be affected by the bacteria in your colon.

Looking at the most common gastrointestinal disorder in the world, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), patients diagnosed with IBS suffer from abdominal pain, diarrhea and constipation, and interestingly also suffer from chronic anxiety or depression.

With this in mind, a new study, using recipient mice, published in Science Translational Medicine explored whether fecal bacteria or microbiota as they call it, from human IBS patients had the ability to influence gut and brain function.

The study revealed that... Click below to learn more
