Jen locks out a press overhead. The strict shoulder press is a good developer of deltoid and triceps strength. It also requires stability through the core muscles.

Ryan resets himself between reps of a 200# front squat triple. Front squats build strength in the quadriceps, and they require incredible core strength to keep an upright torso throughout the movement.

Jordan, June, and Kristin (aka CrossFit Beat's "OG Crew") return from the first of several 50m Farmer Carries. The Farmer Carry is the most basic of functional movements - simply pick up and walk with a couple of heavy objects.

June gets some air on a set of 20 double-unders. Double-unders (where the jump rope passes under your feet twice for each jump) are great for conditioning and coordination.

Many PR's were set this morning in the benchmark 1 mile run for time. June, Kristin, Ryan, Jordan, and Andrew all put forth impressive performances. Nice work!
