Steve Cron, Esq. - Received Five Star Client Reviews on Avvo

A Model of Integrity

Steve Cron is a model of integrity. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced as well as trustworthy, accommodating, and straightforward. As my attorney, he did what he said he was going to do, including returning my phone calls promptly, meeting with me as often as needed, and giving me timely updates. His patience and professionalism were definitely appreciated during an incredibly stressful time. In the end, my case was dismissed thanks to all of his hard work!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have the highest respect and are very grateful for having Steve Cron defend our son and get his charges dismissed!

We have the highest respect and are very grateful for having Steve defend our son in a case where he has charged initially with "assault with a deadly weapon", then reduced to a felony
"assault to cause great bodily harm".

While our son was home for summer break from college , he attended a birthday party at a popular west side restaurant. Late in the evening, an argument broke out, a brawl ensued and four young men had been cut with a knife. The party goer how had the knife admitted to the police that it was his and he was the only person with a knife.

As parents we reached out to a family member who is very well respected Aviation attorney to see if he could recommend the correct attorney for our case.

It was Steve Cron. I called and set an appointment to meet with Steve. He could not have been more kind and knowledgable. He suggested we call our son who was back at school and so we called right then and there! Ben flew down to meet Steve and showed him the location where the brawl took place, in order for Steve to picture for himself what things looked like. How many lawyers would do that? I was impressed.

At two court appointments preceding the preliminary trial, I was again impressed with his interactions with members of the court. I could tell he was both known, well liked and respected by all, including the Judges.

After a day long preliminary hearing, where Steve was calm and professional, asking all the right questions of the witnesses, he moved to have the case dismissed. The prosecutor fired back with a flood of accusations about our son.

Steve, still composed gave four or five statements of facts and conclusions.

THE JUDGE DISMISSED ALL CHARGES AGAINST OUR SON !

We can't say enough about Steve and his assistant Liz. They treated us like family. If you, a family member or friend needs the best legal representation, we would recommend Steve as the man to hire!

Cron, Israels & Stark - My spouse wants to cancel the restraining order against me. Is this possible?

Once a restraining order is issued, only a judge can change or cancel the order. This is a serious problem in cases of domestic violence or spousal abuse. One person, in the heat of the moment, could make serious accusations against you, but the case will not be dropped. This is an effort to protect victims from threats of further harm to get him or her to recant. Only the prosecutor can make this decision, not the person who made the initial accusation of domestic violence that led to the restraining order. Your best choice is to get an attorney who is familiar with the process of getting a restraining order canceled onto your case without delay. A temporary restraining order is more easily addressed.

Cron, Israels & Stark - What does the court consider to be a probation violation in Los Angeles?

In some cases, the court will impose probation as part of a convict's sentence, and violating the terms of your probation can lead to harsh penalties. The terms of probation will be specific to the charges the individual is convicted of, but it is typically considered a probation violation if the convict:

Fails to complete a court-ordered class or program
Does not appear at a scheduled court appearance
Is arrested while on probation
Commits any other type of criminal offense

Cron, Israels & Stark - What Happens To Your Drivers License After A DUI Arrest in Los Angeles?

Being charged with a DUI or drunk driving can be a life altering experience and can have a very adverse affect on an individual's future. One of the obstacles to overcome regarding your charges is the DMV Hearing. This is a separate issue than your court hearing and it should be taken seriously.

After you are charged with a DUI/DWI the arresting officer will take your license and issue a temporary license for 30 days. The arresting officer then submits your license and a full report to the Department of Motor Vehicles regarding the incident. You will be notified of any suspension or revocation of your license and you have 10 days following your receipt of the notice from the police officer to file a request for a hearing. If you fail to schedule the DMV Hearing, your license will automatically be suspended after your temporary 30 day license expires.

It is vital at this point to obtain the help of a qualified DUI attorney who can assess your situation and assist you in achieving the best outcome possible with your DMV hearing. There are a number of issues to be addressed that can affect the outcome of your hearing. Issues like how did the officer conduct their investigation, what was done/said, what equipment was used for a field test and why did the officer pull you over in the first place? By contacting Cron, Israels & Stark you will be getting the help of experienced and knowledgeable DUI defense lawyers that will use their resources to help you get the best possible result with your hearing.

Avoid License Suspension in Los Angeles

While no one can guarantee that your license will not be suspended or revoked, our legal team has a long history of helping people in the Greater Los Angeles area retain their driving privileges following a DUI charge. Without having someone in your corner who has dealt with DMV hearings, you are leaving yourself open to consequences that weren't necessary and could have been avoided if you had proper representation.

Cron, Israels & Stark - Can a person be guilty of drunk driving if he only had one drink?

The crime of drunk driving is generally defined in two ways: (1) having a blood alcohol content above the limit set by law, or (2) driving under the influence of alcohol. To find a person guilty under the first definition, a jury must be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the person's blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeded a certain amount. In most states the legal limit is .08 (or 8 percent). Therefore, if it is proven that the person's BAC at the time of the incident was .08 or greater, he or she can be convicted of drunk driving, regardless of how much alcohol was actually consumed.

In contrast, the second definition does not refer to any particular BAC; it focuses on the driving behavior of the person. If the person's driving is impaired by the consumption of alcohol, he or she can be found guilty of drunk driving. Instead of presenting evidence of the BAC to a jury, the prosecution seeking a conviction under this definition generally presents testimony about the person's driving and consumption of alcohol. A police officer will often describe the impaired driving that lead him to pull the person over and the person's ability (or lack thereof) to perform field sobriety tests, such as walking a straight line. Evidence is also usually presented concerning the person's consumption of alcohol. If the jury then concludes that the prosecution has met its burden of proof, it will convict the person of drunk driving. A susceptible person may exhibit impaired driving after one drink and therefore be convicted of drunk driving.
