Shrimp, Slavery And Ethics http://b4in.info/fqYg

A recent AP investigation revealed the horrendous working conditions of slaves in the shrimp industry in Thailand. A wide array of supermarkets and restaurants sell the shrimp peeled by migrant workers held against their will, including Whole Foods, Safeway, Red Lobster, and Olive Garden.

It also appears in some pet foods. Consumers are urged to look for the Aquaculture Stewardship Council certification on seafood, and to demand ethical, sustainable, and legal shrimp from sellers. The higher cost of domestic and responsibly raised shrimp pays for the tastier, safer product.

Nothing. Just a cold and foggy day that looks wonderful when I am inside in the heat. I am grateful for my little freedoms, my dogs, my partner, my family, my mind, heart and spirit. I will start this new year better than I started the last one because I have taken actions that can only make things better. I must be patient. I must focus on what's good.

Wishing everyone a new year of constant learning.
