Spent a great weekend re-living some of my mis-spent youth by seeing the two Grateful Dead reunion shows in Santa Clara. Saw old friends, boogied down, and smiled an awful lot.

Oh and the rainbow on Saturday! Despite the rumors, it was not fake. But what an uncanny and cool coincidence given Friday's Supreme Court decision - oh and also the fact that it doesn't rain in California in June. Maybe just Jerry smiling down, lots to be happy about. #faretheewell

How cool that it was so close to your home, short commute to the concert and rainbow I agree must be Jerry smiling down on all the fans!
How wonderful that you could enjoy it with friends!

Interesting article about subtle experimentation of food choices at Google cafes.

We helped Googlers avoid eating 3.1 million calories of junk food over two weeks.  And what we did in the office works anywhere -- even at home.   #workrules   #google

Notice he said "calories" with a lowercase "c". So that's 3100 Calories for most people. That's like one breakroom not having peanut M&Ms for one day. 😛

I've logged over 1600km walking, and it would be a lot more if distance had been tracked from the beginning ...

Fans of Google's augmented reality game have walked more than 126,000,000 kilometers while playing over the last two years.

I remember all that "walking" we did around Stierlin Ct. Those were the days...

One of the most revolutionary mobile games ever created is now available for iOS. It's a global struggle between two factions battling for control of territory and human minds. You can't play from your couch, you have to get out and explore the real world. Oh yeah, and join the Enlightened :)

Agents,

Over the last year and a half we've seen many inspiring stories of friendship, exploration and adventure from the Ingress community including epic feats like flying into an Alaskan storm on a bush plane, scaling mountains, and coordinating operations across international borders, demonstrating solidarity and friendship, all through something that’s become more than ‘just a game’ for many of us.  At Niantic Labs, we’re constantly amazed by these acts that demonstrate the power of community.

Today, we’re welcoming a new group of Agents into the community with the launch of Ingress for the iPhone & iPad: http://goo.gl/4bX9D5.  Ingress is now a true cross-platform mobile experience, with Agents across the world playing together in the same shared, global game.

For everyone who has been playing Ingress on Android, we hope this finally gives you a reason to reconnect with your iPhone friends :-)  Don’t forget to send them a link to Ingress Obsessed 3 - Epic Operation Megalodon!

This is a huge step forward for the Ingress community.  We can't wait to see what kinds of new adventures and friendships you create.  Don’t forget to share!

Before long, you'll be part of a huge, diverse community of +Ingress players too! It's time to move:
Getting out of the house and meeting new people is hard. For a long time, I let inertia limit me to the same neighborhood and daily routine—until I started playing a mobile, augmented-reality game from Google called Ingress. In just a few months, I’ve explored places I’d never seen before, met tons of new and interesting people, and walked hundreds of cumulative miles—all because of a simple video game on my phone.

Approaching 3.5 inches of rain in San Jose since 8AM, with no end in sight. A good soaking for just about anywhere, especially down here in the drier "banana belt" of the Bay Area - on average San Jose gets less precipitation annually than Los Angeles #funfact

Oh, and this means that since this morning we've gotten more than half the rainfall we got for the entire 2013-2014 water year. Crazy.

Parenting tip: Don't try to convince your kids that some other word (say, "facetious") is the F word, because they'll just turn around and say:

"No, dad, that's not the F word. FUCK is the F word."

Hey Bismarck Ingressers,

I am @DividedSky, a longtime Ingress player from California, visiting my wife's family here this week. My day job is, well, hey, I work for Niantic Labs. I'm hosting a meetup this Friday night in Bismarck if there's enough interest - here's the event link:

https://plus.google.com/events/c55fia2q1fm74ql5tbjipbmfhkg

Would love to hear cool Ingress war stories, game suggestions and feedback, etc.

Also, I'm totally not a local, so hopefully the venue is a good one. Hope to see some of you then!

Pretty terrible food. Bread was like store-bought generic bread from Safeway, heated up in the oven. The bread was accompanied by a bowl of what tasted just like Ragu or some other bottled pasta sauce. Not fresh at all. Salad contained ancient lettuce, drowned in dressing. I ordered steak medium-rare, it came out practically still alive. I wonder what it would have been like if I'd ordered it rare. The waitress took it back to cook further, brought it back out, but it wasn't much different. Apart from botching the cooking of it, it wasn't very good. Would not recommend.
