NEW CLIENT WIN: Asian Media and Marketing Group (AMG).

Brief - Our brief was to create a new contemporary logo for a global media conglomerate, AMG. Housing a number of exciting and diverse media brands including Eastern Eye, GG2 and Garavi Gujarat, the brand is strong, respected and well known to the communities that it serves.

Execution - We designed the logo letterforms to reflect the company’s legacy of solidity and stability, and at the same time be appealing to a contemporary audience.

The logo is a symbol of the deep strength of the brand and how it connects communities and businesses across the globe through its media assets. This connectivity is visually represented between the three overlapping elements of the logo.

After the logo was finalised, we then presented our client with various business card concepts.

What does your logo really say about you? Here are a few things to think about when having a logo designed:

When it comes to first impressions you only have about 2 seconds to impress the world! Your logo needs to immediately conjure up a feeling of who and what your brand is about.

Your logo is the FIRST thing that people will notice. It's the first visual that starts a journey between you and a prospective customer.

It needs to stand out from the crowd! If you're one of a thousand experts in your area, it will be like herding bees for a prospective customer trying to decide who to contact. A brilliant creative stand out logo is like a beacon in the dark!

So, does your logo come up to scratch?

Work smart, dream big

At Creative ID, we believe we should always have a dream. It helps drive us forward and inspires us to enjoy the now but dare to think about the future, and work smart to achieve that dream.

What’s our work smart ethic at Creative ID? Here are our top three tips:

1. Accept that you'll make mistakes but learn from them.
2. Give back. If you have a great mentor, then make sure you are a great mentor to someone else who needs help.
3. Don't do something just to chase the money. Sure, you need money to be able to survive but don't make it your raison d'etre.

What are your tips for working smart? Let us know in the comments below.

We're more than logos…

This lovely lady was created as part of a project with Handy Candy Bags. Creative ID created these digitally rendered dolls in various styles and colour options. It was also new venture for Handy Candy Bags which had previously specialised in hand painted illustrations for their products.

Attention to detail was, as always, paramount. Brand consistency and the quality of the artwork needed to meet our clients necessarily exacting specification. We designed 8 dolls in all with every conceivable variation of eyes, hair and skin to choose from. Below is our personal favourite!

The digital artwork we created has also been used to print onto fabrics, ceramics and plastics. Lots of fun!

Spring Bright Branding

Take inspiration from nature with spring’s bright colours. If you’re a new business thinking about which colours will work best for you or a business that’s ready for a spring refresh, nature is there in all her abundance to provide inspiration at this time of year. Of course bright colours are not for everyone, so before you go and ask for that bright yellow logo, you might want to think about how colour can mean different things to different people and cultures. In other words make sure that you know your market, and make sure that your designer knows your market before you even think about colours!

Colour is important. It stimulates our senses and can convey an instant message, but the colour of your branding should set you apart for all the right reasons. For spring colours we focus on nature’s blues, greens and yellows.

Green: When we think of green we think of health and freshness and new growth. The branding that Creative ID designed for Mahi Naturals is in a very soft shade of mint green which highlights the natural and organic nature of the products and their ingredients. Green in general is seen as calming and deep green is often associated with wealth. Think of an Aston Martin in British Racing Green!

Yellow: Did you know that the eye sees bright yellows before any other colour? No wonder then that yellow is universally seen as ‘caution’ and used extensively for hazard signs. Used in the right way though it can convey sunshine, positivity, warmth and optimism.

Blue: Blue is the most popular colour for corporate logos, particularly in financial companies for conveying trust and fiscal responsibility. But blue is also associated with the sea and sky, conveying feelings of serenity and calm. So there you have it, a quick guide to key spring colours and how they can be incorporated into your branding.

At Creative ID we can help you to define your brand and work with you to create a fresh, exciting brand presence for your business. Call us on (0)20 7242 1877.

How far do you take your branding? Does it stop at your logo, letterhead and website? Or do you take a more holistic view of what can be achieved with great branding?

It's always good to keep in touch with clients and sometimes just a 'seasonal hello' or a thank you card can make all the difference.

We've worked with Michelin star chef Atul Kochhar since 2000, with Atul being our second client when we started out! Our work with him and his team at Benares has included invitation cards, menu cards and even large charity donation cheques and goody bags for a special ‘Find Your Feet’ charity dinner. We also created a range of limited edition handcrafted Benares spice cards that featured vibrant and exotic spices, as well as these coloured chilli incense cones that conjured up the piquant, spiced flavours which are a part of Benares cooking. We love them, do you?

At Creative ID giving back is within our brand ‘DNA’ and one of the charities that is close to our heart is Find Your Feet, ‘enabling poor rural families in Asia and Africa to grow enough food so they don’t go hungry, to strengthen their voice so they can speak out against injustice and to earn enough money so they can find their feet’.

How can you give back? Easter isn’t only about chocolate…Today is actually known in the Christian calendar as Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday, and for the team at Creative ID it has significance because it has at its heart the principle of 'giving back'. Christians remember it as the day of the Last Supper, when Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. And, towards the end of the last supper when he gave a new command to his disciples that they love one another. For many centuries, Monarchs would wash the feet of chosen poor people as a gesture of humility in remembrance of Jesus’ ceremony. Today that tradition has evolved into the Maundy Thursday ceremony. In London, the Queen attends a service at Westminster Cathedral where she will distribute Maundy money to senior citizens who have been recognised for their service to their community. A ceremonial red and white purse is given to each of them, containing one coin for each year of the monarch’s reign.

We wish all of our clients, friends and colleagues a peaceful and happy Easter break.

We take great pride in our work. It's always wonderful and motivating to receive positive client feedback. Here's an excerpt from Michelin star chef Atul Kochhar from +Benares Restaurant in Mayfair. We first started working with Atul back in 2000 so it's been a wonderful 16 years.

We love this quote from Jay Danzie: 'Your smile is your logo, your personality is your business card, how you leave others feeling after an experience with you becomes your trademark'.

At Creative ID we also know the power and impact of first appearances. Your logo and business card are often the first things that a prospective client will see. Stand out from the crowd with a design that's unique to you and true to your business. Like this one that Creative ID created for Pink Chai. See link in Bio for more information and inspiration!
