Triangle Braulio Estima-Style at the 2016 World Championship - We were focusing on reverse and inverted triangles in 2013 (very underutilized to this day) and it's been in the tool box since. Vanessa Griffin had just started training in the adult class then lol. Her opponent was one of the favorites to win the whole division - having taken 2nd in 2014 and winning the Pan earlier in the year... but that's why you wrestle matches in real life and not on paper. @grifinn_ became Crazy 88's first female World medalist at the Purple Belt level. @roninbrandgis #bjj #brazilianjiujitsu #ibjjf #braulioestima #triangle #invertedtriangle #jiujitsu #dontcallitanupset #submission #koreabjj #Crazy88MMA #주짓수 #유술

Great place to train. Feels like a family and everyone is very approachable. As a student in both Muay Thai and the BJJ side of the gym I have found the classes to be consistent. If you like to train in stand up or work on your grappling you will be met with a friendly group of people who have vast knowledge of the sport and zero judgment for anyone at any skill level. It has been a really great experience.

Crazy 88 Mixed Martial Arts is the place to be! Post college can be a challenge but Crazy 88 has given me a place to call home. Great atmosphere for development as a competitor and as a person. I've learned so much here and I wouldn't change it for the world!

I started training at Crazy 88 in October and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I always had an interest in mixed martial arts, but did not think I would be good or strong enough. The idea of having to display physical weakness and vulnerability in front of others was intimidating enough to keep me from going to a place like this for years, even though I really enjoyed combatives training in the Army. When I finally decided to give it a try, the experience was more enriching, engaging, and positive than I could have imagined. When I started jiu-jitsu and muay thai, everyone at the gym was extremely friendly, helpful, and supportive, and I never felt like I was being judged. It was an easy transition as I started to understand the art behind MMA. Training at Crazy 88 gives you the opportunity to train with world class champions and coaches who are the best at what they do. It does not matter what your goals are: self-defense, competing, or staying fit. You will be welcomed and you will see progress and growth in more than one area of your life. I used to spend hours at the gym every week on an elliptical or track and dread every single second. I had to bribe myself into getting out of my car. At Crazy 88, I’m excited to go and to tell other people about what we do. MMA is not only a practical and useful form of training and being fit, but it is fun and exciting. You will never be bored or feel the monotony of the average gym. There are classes for every type of schedule and the gym has a fantastic kids and daycare program. As someone who works full-time, goes to law school at night, and is part of the Army Reserves, I still have time to go 3-4 times a week. Despite my schedule, I find time to go because the experiences I walk away with at the end of every class make every drop of sweat worth it.

Crazy 88 is a special place. From the facility, to the instructors, to the other students, everyone is welcoming, supportive, and trying to make you better. The owner, Julius, is a fantastic teacher, coach, and mentor for all his students. This is my first experience with martial arts and my only regret is that I didn't find Crazy 88 sooner.

This is an excellent school! I've trained for more than 7 years at 3 different schools and been to countless seminars, and Julius and the other instructors at Crazy 88 stand out to me as some of the best that I've come across. They're knowledgeable, patient, able and willing to answer any questions that students may have, and they create an excellent, safe environment to learn. The training partners there are skilled, and the environment is very low-ego. I highly recommend this school to anyone that wants to learn bjj or muay Thai, or anyone that wants to continue to refine their current knowledge. Plus, a free 30-day trial? Can't go wrong with that.

I've only been training at Crazy 88 (Elkridge location) for about two months. Right now, I'm averaging 3 classes a week in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu . The training is serious, comprehensive and quite challenging, from a mental / intellectual standpoint, even more than the physical.. I haven't sampled the boxing or Muay Thai classes yet, but from what I've seen so far, they train quite intensely over on that side of the shop as well. BJJ is very sophisticated, cutting-edge skills for grappling, wrestling and ground-fighting. These folks are grooming hard core athletes for amateur and professional competition in Jiu Jitsu and MMA, but they still provide a warm and supportive training environment for inexperienced and awkward beginners like me, which makes it challenging but rewarding. Come on out and check out their dedicated staff and students. They'll take you right into the fascinating world of chokes, arm bars, the magic of leverage and the science of grappling.
