What was old is new again

After leaving Toronto to live on the other side of the world for 5 years, I am back in just about exactly the same spot. My old apartment can be seen in this panorama, which is only about 1.5km away.

Haven't had much time to spend on photos for many months, but that should change soon. Worked on this one today for a while using Lightroom, Photoshop and #MacPhun programs, which are really useful. The view on the balcony is kind of awesome looking south, straight downtown.

After the Rain

Got lucky with some great light on the walk to work today. Barely needed any adjustments, but the new #snapseed is a lot of fun to use in any case.

The Quietest Airport
Tokyo, Japan

This is the first time I have been to Haneda Airport for a flight. I don't know if it's always this empty, but today I was wondering what was going on. Lots of nice restaurants, but they were all empty. I'm not complaining - who wants to wait in lines!

Room with a View
So this is what I am missing being on the 2nd floor. Enjoying the awesome sunset from 5 floors up last night. No electric lines in my face, just mountains. #sendai #japan

Lunch Break

I am late to the game with these #VSCO filters, but I like the look of them.

Storm in the Sewer
London, Ontario

I was heading to a café on the winter holiday and passed by some steamy sewers, so I thought taking some rapid fire shots on the iPhone would be handy. I just found an app called Giffer Pro this week that lets you make custom GIFS - so I can finally do something with all these pictures. These are my first tests using this app, but I wish it wouldn't crop to square size and just kept the original aspect since it cuts off the sides. It doesn't appear that you can control the area that gets cropped, either. It's still a pretty useful app and I still need to figure out all the settings.

Happy Happy
Sendai, Japan

I have heard about this truck serving melon buns but have never seen it until now. I grabbed a cinnamon that was still warm from baking and have to say I should have got two. Next time.

Mori Tower Sky Deck, Tokyo

Be warned it's an extra Y500 and your view is a bit cut off compared to the regular Observation Level, but there's no glass or reflections in your face.

I don't usually post about bike rides, but it was a giant ride today and I finally topped 100km. It's amazing I have never done that in a single day before. I guess 150km is the next level. #strava

Hey man, a new bike sounds great! There's a bunch of solid bike shops in Tokyo for sure. When you're back in town let's take care of those rolls of film! Let me know.
