This is why people are failing to get any traction on G+
Here's a great article from +Charles Dowd
about why people are failing at Google+. He suggests 3 reasons. Here's my perspective.1. Have you circled enough people?
As someone else said here, you'll think the Kindle is a failure if you haven't loaded any books on it. Get out there and circle at least 1,000 active people. 2. Have you commented on any posts?
Remember, this is a conversation. Reach out and help other people, connect with their minds and make friends.3. Are you purely self-promoting?
This is the trap most people fall into. I run +Universe Today
, which is a firehose of space news, but I only post the occasional article in my personal feed.
I'll add a few additional tips to what +Charles Dowd
is saying with this great article.
- Have you filled out your profile?
Put a bunch of original posts up that showcase your personality and what your interests are? How else will people know to circle you?
- Are you creating anything that makes Google+ better?
For example we connect live telescopes into a Google+ Hangout +Virtual Star Party
. Google made a documentary about that... hint hint.
- Are you organizing a community and helping people within your community find each other?
Look at what +Amanda Blain
- Are you giving credit back to the people who originally post the cool stuff?
