Dee and Joyce spent some leisurely time painting and decorating flower pots.  It looked as though their favorite part was getting their hands in the soil and doing a little planting.  With warm weather on the way, they will certainly be enjoying the raised flower beds, and greenhouse.

Every year our residents and volunteers come together to create hand sewn pillow cases we add to our 75 military boxes we pack every year.  We are honed to have the @PortlandRoseFestival Court join us and our residents to help with the packing.  Other residents take part by writing personalized letter to include in the boxes.  We would not be able to make this possible with our the assistance of @MollysAdoptSailor.

It’s not “politics as usual” when you attend a Resident Council Meeting.  The addition of “Where in the world have you been?” has sparked some great conversations!  It revealed travel to some little known countries that are just a speck on the map, and commonalities among the travel of our Veterans.  It’s a great way to learn about your neighbors.

The Life Long Learning event at Rodda Paint was a lot of fun for our residents, Georgetta & Marguerite.  They had a great time learning new paint techniques while making a decorative chalkboard.  More fun projects at Rodda Paint are being planned.  Follow us on Facebook so you’ll be the first to know!

The Spring Formal found Kim Ralphs, and The Dancing Penguins band, accompanied by vocalist LaRhonda Steele playing dance tunes and classics.    Our residents love to dance, and that night was no exception.  The music was a nice addition to the dinner of Halibut or Coq Au Vin.  A good time was had by all!

The tangy smell of vinegar, scented with pickling spices evoked memories of warm days spent “canning” together with our family and friends.  That’s just what we did today as we made our first batch of dill pickles!  It was hard to put them on the shelf, waiting a few weeks for the pickling solution to work its magic!
