#Broccoli   is one of the green vegetables that's available year-round and used in this delicious recipe.  Look for firm heads and tight florets.  To enhance the dish even more, roasting the broccoli with garlic and #parmesancheese   gives it great flavor!
YOU WILL NEED:
4 to 5lbs fresh broccoli
4 cloves garlic peeled and thinly sliced
Extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons juliennned fresh basil leaves (about 12 leaves)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Cut the broccoli florets from the thick stalks , leaving an inch or two of stalk, discarding the rest.  Cut the larger pieces through  the base of the head pulling florets apart.  You should have about 8 cups of florets.  Place broccoli on a sheet pan large enough to hold a single layer.  Toss the garlic with the broccoli and drizzle with 5 tablespoons olive oil.  Sprinkle with the salt and pepper.  Roast for 20 to 25 mins, until crisp-tender and tips of some florets are browned.
Remove from oven and immediately toss with 1.5 tablespoons olive oil, lemon zest , lemon juice , pine nuts, cheese and basil.
Serve hot.

With thanks to our patient P Schmidt.

Lesson learnt about our standard procedure of using #xray   to confirm our exam findings!  Discovered that a patient had #lungcancer   which was causing his mid-back pain.  This after he had been given pain medications and muscle relaxers, gone to physical therapy, an osteopath and another chiropractor.  What would have been the outcome if we had just "given him a good crack" ?

Don't squander either as it is terribly hard to get either back.  So much easier to stay #healthier than to try and get #well .
