New in 2016, a foiled attempt to get to Urique for the Ultra Marathon the first Sunday in March. Our goal was to find a direct route through the big detour from 2013. We were 1000 meters above a confluence of 4 canyons, and we couldn't find a good route down. We came back with GPS coordinates, and now we know for 2017.

Here is the route we took from Divisadero to Urique for the 2013 Caballo Blanco Ultra Marathon. There's a route along a high traverse on the west bank of the Barranca Urique. There's the river route, too easy, just follow the water. Then there's this route that involved a big loop to the east.

I'm new to this G+ so well see what happens. We're gearing up for a good season in Las Barrancas. The Christmas-New Years burro trip is filling up. We've got backpackers and hikers and even a burro-supported backpack trip going- all before the end of the year. If you want to cut expenses, think about caravaning from Tucson. Call soon, we'll be incomunicado, and loving it!!
