In the U.S., the AIA gives an architecture prize to several buildings every year. In the UK, RIBA offers the Stirling Prize to a single "best" building. Can there be such a thing? (Maybe.) Regardless, this year's Stirling finalists are not just good architecture, but fascinating in the diversity of project types, materials, and styles.
