CONTESA is extremely pleased to announce that at the trustees meeting on 24th March 2018 CONTESA approved the first ever tranche of small grants. A total of 8 grassroot organisations in Zambia were approved for varying amounts. The trustees were impressed by the large number of applications and the quality of applications and were sad that they could not in this instance approve a greater number of applications. The grants will be subject to ongoing assessment & due diligence checks by CONTESA including visits by our Zambia representative

CONTESA will be featuring each week one of these organisations and highlighting the work they do and how the grants made by CONTESA will be used.

Many thanks to all those in Zambia and in the Zambian diaspora who put forward organisations and CONTESA hopes that you can also support us through donations and by liking and sharing our posts. Just click on the website donate page www.contesacharity.org

Great news and a big relief, after many months of hard work especially by Mafalda (many many thanks) we are up and running with the new CONTESA website. Brilliant fresh vibrant look and very social media friendly but no doubt a few glitches so if you spot any please let me know.

CONTESA 10th Anniversary celebration day - Silent auction
Amazing painting by Hamish Blakely.
The painting is titled " God Bless the Child" after the lyrical song by Billy Holiday, and was painted by Hamish to reflect CONTESA's wonderful work for the less fortunate children of Zambia.
A big thank you to Hamish, who even farmed it himself and then painted the frame.
Why not bid (reserve is £4,000) and acquire not just a very special painting but a real art investment, just email roger@contesacharity.co.uk to make the arrangements.
