At the end of January, we celebrated the retirement of our friend and coworker, Mike Saleno. Mike came to Constellation in 2005 with a degree in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and experience as an ISO 9000 quality manager with organizations such as Digital Light Wave and Paradyne.

Mike started off at Constellation as Quality Manager. During his tenure, he optimized Constellation’s ISO 17025 Quality Plan such that the re-certification audits always went smoothly. In addition to his responsibilities as Quality Manager, he also took responsibility for the corporation’s security program with the Department of Defense and became IT Manager.

Though he wore many hats, Mike never lost his electrical engineering skills or his desire to measure current and voltage. As such, he repaired many pieces of the laboratory’s instrumentation. Constellation bids Mike adieu with very hearty thanks and best wishes with his retirement plans.
